Nintendo's games tend to attract some pretty off-beat merchandise, especially in Japan. We've already seen Splatoon sweeties but now there's a Super Mario Maker Gummy kit - and as you would expect, it allows you to craft your own chewy sweets in the comfort of your own home.
As you can see from the video above, the process is actually quite long-winded and we don't know about you, but the end result is a little underwhelming.
Still, it'll keep you busy for a short time and is the ideal way to forget about the fact that Nintendo still hasn't officially unveiled the NX yet.

Can you eat Peach? Unfortunately not. Some Peach jelly tots would be nice.
They didn't turn out well. I'd say using hot water would have been better and stirring it before pouring it into the moulds. Can't imagine they'd be very healthy either. But you could always reuse the moulds and make proper jelly with Chivers, not the powdery crap. Raspberry is the nicest.
What.
D.I.Y. gummies... Neat idea, but the execution needs work. It kinda reminds me of the Easy/Queasy Bake ovens.
Still has more features than the 3DS port.
I would like the character mold, homemade gummies are much better than store bought.
Simple recipes as well.
NOW WITH SLOPES
I'll gladly take this over the 3DS version, tbh.
Oh, no wonder it's crap, why would you not set a liquid mix in the mold to gel and instead add water with a droplet?
I've made a few of these types of kits before, they're pretty fun to do even if they usually don't look or taste that great. The popular brand that does this is Popin Cookin.
That gummy template can be used also for making jelly or gelatine. Just pour the right liquid onto and you can get Mario Maker Jelly everytime.
Btw, are those gummies edible ?
Maybe you're meant to mix the powder and water separately, and then use the droplet to apply the mixture to the moulding tray? :/
EDIT: No you're not. The instructions say to do as this guy did. So, err... just practice more, I guess.
He should have mixed all the colours to get an invincible tutti-frutti Mario.
Way more innovative than the 3DS Version.
This has taken level creation to a whole new level in Super Mario Maker: It's fun and creative, but is it tasty enough?
Can see some marketing opportunities for a certain German confectionary company to get in on this with a Super Haribo Maker.
Wii U > Gummies > 3DS
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Yeah that would make more sense.
@InternetBowser
Probably could. That's a great idea. ^^
Maybe they could just give you the gummies and background.
@YoshiParty This comment made my day !
@InternetBowser
Right?
You could get those little candies you melt and press into molds at the craft store and such. That'd be really good for a video game themed party or something.
@InternetBowser
Wish what existed? The candies you melt to press into molds? Or videogame themed parties?
:s
@InternetBowser
The meltable candies do exist.
And so do videogame themed parties. My kiddo has had Pokemon and Skylanders themed birthdays.
