Earlier this week there was a glut of new information related to Pokémon Sun and Moon, which are all set to keep 3DS owners busy later this year. The Pokémon Company is eager to ensure that the hype train doesn't slow down, either, as another set of reveal details is due on 14th September at the now-usual time of 6am Pacific / 9am Eastern / 2pm UK / 3pm CET.
Also of interest is a flashy new trailer posted on the official Japanese account, which has some fresh footage and even some additional details. Check it out below, followed by a handy summary via Serebii.
Most noteworthy, at 1:32 the video showcases a man called Oak who discusses Region Forms; this is Nariya Oak (in Japanese), Professor Oak's cousin. It also showcases the name of the PokéRide options: Lapras Swim, Sharpedo Jet & Charizard Flight.

Also, you don't have to even be a big Pokémon fan to appreciate that music.
So, what do you think? Let us know, and we'll be sure to cover the 14th September reveals when they come around.

A very snazzy trailer!
1:31 Looks like Professor Oak got a good tan.
After watching the trailer, it's kinda complicated.
I'm interested with both Sun and Moon concept. But, still need more deliberation for me...
If i choose Sun : I like Light (Holy) elemental from Sun. Also, it represent Helios (God of Sun). The Lion Pokemon looks cool. But the cover artbox is dominated by Red color. Red is not my fave color.
If i choose Moon : I'm not really interested with Dark elemental. It represent Artemis (Goddess of Moon ?). The Bat Pokemon doesn't look so cool but dominated by Blue color. Blue is my fave color. But the game time will played in 12 hours different.
@wiggleronacid It's actually Oak's cousin, which is an AWESOME thing. We may consider him Alolan Oak.
So cool! What an awesome trailer. I'll be getting Moon and my husband will be getting Sun. We preordered the steel box version. I'm counting down the days until it gets here.
Saw this one yesterday. Anyone care to translate the dramatically zoomed-on text?
So even Professor Oak has an Alolan form! I wonder what type he is...? Psychic, at least.
Alexsora89 it pretty much just shows character dialog that corresponds to what they are showing off in the trailer. For example at one point it has dialog about team skull and then it shows team skull. Then it has dialog about the special raichu before showing that ext. Sorry would translate the whole thing if i didn't have to go to work.
@AlexSora89 Well... the first thing the Professor says is: "sateto!". I googled it, and it has no meaning. Maybe it's the players name? The next bit I don't know because I can't read katakana yet.
Very good video, hope for the final evolution of the starters.
@PlanetaryNebulae
Still, thank you! Most likely the site's japanese userbase will drop by sooner or later.
So does this confirm no Alolan Pikachu or Exeggcute?
@cabe1734
Thank you too, the lack of an @ symbol prevented your tag from working. No pressure!
This trailer is dope.
Now watch America get another slideshow trailer in the exact same format as before
Still though, I LOVED this trailer!
The English name for Oak's cousin is Samson Oak.
i havent played a pokemon game for years because i dont like them but im thinking about getting sun or moon
That trailer makes me want it more.
But does it have Jigglypuff?
Hmmmm....
@PlanetaryNebulae I believe "さてと" is simply a variant of "さて", which basically means "Well now"/"Well then". It doesn't have a whole lot of meaning in its own right, but is usually used to prefix something more substantial. For example, "well then everyone, shall we begin?" nicely translates as "さて皆さん、始めましょうか?", and is quite a common phrase in classroom settings.
So, err... after all that, we've concluded he's just said "Right then". Which I suppose is a fair enough phrase to start off with.
For the record, I find that this site does a slightly better job of nailing spoken/colloquial Japanese than Google Translate (or just typing things into Google). It's in Japanese, but the only thing you need to do is stick your text into the big white box and press the big orange [日本語→英語] button underneath on the right. Try it with "さてと". And this is a much more user friendly dictionary, although it doesn't have quite the same bank of sample phrases to draw from.
To answer @AlexSora89 's question more directly, @cabe1734 is pretty much bang on the money. The trailer zooms in on key words in pieces of dialogue that refer to specific elements of the game, each of which is then demonstrated.
Sticking just to the zoomed in bits, the first key words are "ポケットモンスター " and "アローラ地方", which mean "Pokémon" and "The Alola Region" respectively, and are followed a picture of the Alola Region. Then "最高のパートナー", which means "strongest partner", followed by clip of the trainer sending out his starter Pokemon. Then "ライドギア" (Ride Gear) and "ライドポケモン" (Ride Pokémon), followed by a demonstration of various Pokémon riding minigames. Then 島巡り(island tour) and 試練 (trials) w/ corresponding vids. Then リージョンフォーム (region/Alolan form) and アローラの ライチュウ めっちゃ ええやん (Alolan Raichu is super-great!), followed by Alolan forme showcase (including Alolan Raichu). Then スカル団 (Team Skull) + demonstration. Then エーテル財団 (Aether Foundation) + demonstration. Then ウルトラビースト (ultra beast) + demonstration. Then ゼンリョク (full power), with a showcase of the Z-moves. And finally, the trailer ends with Kukui's words, "じゃ きみの 到着を 楽しみに 待ってるぜ!" (Well then, I'm eagerly awaiting your arrival!).
Ooph. So... yeah, I'm sure you get the picture. Actually, there were WAY more zoomed in sections than I remembered, so I wasn't expecting it to take that long. In fact, only a few bits of text weren't. FWIW, in a couple of other standard text boxes, Oak introduces himself as a researcher of region formes, and the obligatory guy who yells "THE POWER OF SCIENCE IS AMAZING!" returns, so I hope that brings a smile to your face. It just wouldn't be Pokémon without him.
@Maxz Thank you! I'll probably use that site in the future.
This has such cheesy, feel-good music in the background and I love it.
THAT WAS AMAZING! I was about 30% hyped, now I'm like 80%!! Just need to secure this job, then I can secure a preorder
I'm in love !!
Glad we're finally getting a member of the oak family back it's been since HG/SS since the last time we saw Oak himself! Would love to see a few more faces. Looker especially as he's my absolute favourite character.
@Maxz
Thank you! Any translation is more than welcome.
Missed opportunity: Making Hau Samson's grandson.
The trailers actually really good, but I know the game won't be as exciting as it's making out.
