In addition to its various live broadcasts during E3, a while ago Nintendo confirmed that its Nintendo NY store in Rockefeller Plaza would be showing the first day's action on its large screen and giving some attendees time to try out The Legend of Zelda's extended demo.
Though the hands on appointments don't start until 3pm local time on 14th June, those in New York that want one of the 500 appointments (running up to 19th June) will need to queue up this weekend. Time slots will start to be handed out to those that are in line at 9am Eastern on Saturday 11th June; it'll be interested to see whether there's a lot of keen interest around this opportunity to go hands on with the game.
During E3 Nintendo will also be running in-store demonstrations of the Wii U game, so if you don't have an appointment it'll likely still be worth going along if you live locally.
Are any of you planning to get up early on Saturday to queue for an appointment?

Nothing in Europe is there?
I'm looking forward to seeing zelda in action finally, must say.
GameXplain direct feed footage, here we come.
No thanks. But they'd be very welcome to come to Ireland. Great if you're in L.A or New York but what about the other 7+ billion people around the world that may want to play it? They've the perfect solution right on their doorstep.......eShop.
If only Nintendo had some sort of online shop where you could download demos.....
@LeRaposa LOL
I'm not complaining about E3 demos not coming to eshop as I go to EGX every year. Also, expos are way more fun than just sitting at home!
Seriously, this game is going to have to one of the very best games ever created at this point or Nintendo is just going to get lost in the crowd at this years E3 (in terms of being just one thing of many). And, it's Nintendo that has put this much expectation on it, no one else.
Really hope they make this available online after E3. Although sounds like the download size would be huge.
I hope to get to play at EGX in September.
@123akis I really wonder what Nintendo will do at EGX this year. If NX isn't announced by then I think there's only Zelda U and Pokemon Sun/Moon? Maybe Color Splash if not a late summer / early fall game?
@LeRaposa hahaha
@Grumblevolcano Yh I really do wonder as well! If the rumours pointing to the NX being revealed at the Tokyo Games Show are true, then I doubt the NX will be playable at EGX because TGS is just a week before EGX. Also, Nintendo are not as willing to bring demos of unfinished games to EGX because it's a very public event, unlike E3.
Gee, I wonder if Nintendo will distribute this demo somehow by using the power of the Internet and a certain online marketplace....
I've waited in line for a decent amount of time for certain experiences... but for a game demo? I feel like I could get almost the same experience watching a gameplay video...
@BensonUii Exactly. There will probably be some Nintendo representative there to guide the whole experience too. Wonder if they could do that by voice chat if they'd allow you to play a world premiere demo in the comfort of your own home...
@holygeez03 Well, it might be almost the same, perhaps, but still significantly different in experience nonetheless.
Besides the fact that playing the game yourself will be WAY more immersive, it is of course also interactive, instead of just watching "the other guy" do it for you.
And maybe you would like to go left at some point and he goes to the right, so viewing a demo does not really work for quite a lot of people.
And obviously, nothing beats a first time experience with a new game, especially an important game such as The Legend of Zelda.
Please come to eshop!
@BensonUii Nintendo wouldn't have a single worry about their financial future if all of the people in the world wanted to play the next Zelda! ;D
Regardless of the demo, I'm not sure whether to get this on Wii U or Nx 🤔
I'm not gonna get ready because I'm not in NY...
Can't believe I'm on media blackout for this game. I somehow have to dodge all info and footage until next year. This is gonna be tough...
Having spent 4.5 hours in the queue for the grand reopening of the NY Store - and getting about 3 hours from the door before giving up - I can't imagine what this event will be like! At least it's summer, I guess.
Why are the US always getting favoured like this? How about a European Demo too?`
Well I guess we'll just have to watch some videos of the action... still looking forward to see more gameplay.
Hopefully this game is getting a name this time.
@Grumblevolcano nx direct will be later this year Nintendo said this all ready.1 wii u game and rest is 3ds.
@shani Not Really Since It's Not On The Eshop
@slim80: What exactly are you referring to, a demo or videos?
I meant videos on all kind of gaming sites, not the eshop. Who goes to the eshop first to watch a video? By the time I got the video loading, I've already watched it on my PC. Besides, it's not the eshop ever had any exclusive material, all of it can be found on Youtube.
And btw: the internet is bigger than the eshop.
@shani Nintendo of Europe are useless at marketing. That's why the EU market is dominated by Fifa and Minecraft.
@slim80 EGX is in late September.
Got my ticket; will get to play the demo at noon on Wednesday (got up at 5am to get in line by 540am or so after breakfast and crossing town). Was about the 100th person, even though the line "officially" started at 7am.
@marandahir gotta be a fan. hope it's worth it
Feeling a bit tired on a Saturday afternoon while my wife is at work? Totally worth it if I get to play Zelda U next week for a little bit.
It's not like the reopening of Nintendo NYC, when I had to wait 9 hours in line to get my exclusive reopening weekend goodies.
