Interview: Making the Meowst of Monster Hunter Generations

So, quick. Should I get MH4U and get Generations, or just get Generations in July?

@yannah21 Tough to say honestly...I'd just wait...but at the same time there is that bonus content that you get with 4U saves.

That and some of the monsters from 4U were cut in Generations for some odd reason.

Am I the only one that doesn't like Monster Hunter?

@16bitdave I used to hate MH when I had played it for PSP and 3U on 3ds. It wasn't until I played 4U, that I was legitimately impressed wit the game and feel in love with it. I'm 500+ hours in now...

I played the Japanese release, MHX and I loved it. I stopped after awhile cause I really wanna play it in English. Very, very hyped.

@MajinCubyan Thats cool. I tried it for maybe 5 hours and was just confused and couldn't get into it.

@Tsurii I bought 4U at launch as my first MH game, and then 3U when it was on sale a few months later. 3U is fun and all, but I can play 4U for hours on end, but I can rarely spend more than an hour at a time playing 3U. The lack of mounting to speed up the pace of battle, plus the slow-ass water combat just makes each hunt feel a lot longer than it actually is. My main weapons, SA, DB and SnS, all have additional combos in 4U that make it flow a lot better, specifically the X-X-X hack-n-slash in Sword Mode on Switch Axe, the charge jump attack on SnS, and the spinning X+A attack when DB is in Archdemon mode. Everything about 3U is just a lot slower once you've played 4U.

Yeah after playing 4U I find it very hard to go back to 3U. It's just so much slower and while I never hated the water battles, it's not going to be missed at all.

@16bitdave lol 5 hours in monster Hunter is not even enough for a tutorial of what the game is like

I played MU3 on Wii U and didn't liked it. I skipped 4U.. Still thinking about generations..

@H_Hunter I played 3U for wii after 4U and, although it isn't quite as good, I really enjoy that one. But Generations is awesome.

@erv Yeah perhaps I need to give it another try

Amiibo = exclusive Armor,Weapons and/or Quests that give materials to make the armor and weapons that are only unlockable through that method or having someone else with the quest initiate it in the guild hall.
