Miitomo has proved to a a successful first step into the world of smart devices for Nintendo, with over 10 million users worldwide; more than 20 million Miifotos have also been created, which shows that users are really engaging with it.
Keen to build on this success Nintendo has released a slightly cringeworthy video trailer, apparently aimed at selfie obsessed youths who would normally be giggling on a bus with Snapchat rather than Nintendo's social app.
The two young ladies in the trailer appear to be having a whale of a time. Have you been enjoying making fun Miifotos on public transport lately, or is this a case of marketing from another planet? As always, let us know your thoughts on the trailer and Miitomo in general with a comment below.

Miifoto is mainly what I use miitomo for. Who needs emoji when you can make a miifoto and send it?
If Nintendo made the Miitfoto interface more user friendly, maybe even more like Snapchat, they would have a huge audience on their hands. Eh. What am I saying. It'll never happen.
All miitomo does is ask nosy question and is the ultimate life invader getting information and passing it to places and now wants a face pic to go with all the nosy info they have gathered.
I've got much more important things to do on the bus. I'm usually playing Monster Hunter to and from work.
@Luna-Harmony Well Miitomo was able to collect more personal information than Facebook was able to in the same period.
They want to see your face so they know who everyone is and can save the images into their database for when they need to look you back up for perversion.
Miitomo is boring. Miifoto isn't enough to make me want to login again
Miitomo is not available in my country ¬¬ ...
Miitomo is definitely a social app, it's not very fun for me because I don't have enough people involved and I don't do twitter or social media. So I think if they can reel in enough teens then it could really take off. The ad doesn't seem too far off to me, I can see teens using it all the time to upload mifotos.
I hate those open mouth reaction shots, they are sooooooooooooooo overused to death. >_<
I use Miitomo quite a bit and have managed to get quite a lot of friends. Maybe that's part of the college experience though.
the in game currency needs to accrue much faster so I can obtain outfits to miifoto with
I still don't fully understand Miitomo in general. It seems completely boring and pointless to me. I downloaded it for platinum points, but prolly gonna delete it.
Miitomo takes forever to open up on my G3, and the whole thing has a 2010 DSi look about its design and fonts.
It's also generally unenjoyable and I literally have 2 friends on there.
Every time I do log in (once a week, maybe) I'm bombarded with around 5 to 8 notification prompts.
I'd say the first mobile attempt from Nintendo and DeNA is largely a swing and a miss; nobody outside of the 3DS/Wii U crowd is aware of or playing this. And that was Nintendo's biggest goal in the smart phone venture to begin with.
