Not long ago we highlighted how Pokémon fans in the UK can get hold of a legendary bird from Smyths Toys Superstore outlets; other stores are doing distributions throughout Europe. For those without a local participating store in the EU, though, codes will eventually go to those signed up to the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter.
The 'mon in question are Articuno, Zapdos or Moltres, all with their hidden abilities; it's now confirmed that they'll only be distributed via the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter in the US. Those that want one of these for their copies of X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will need to sign-up (at the source link below) by 22nd April in order to get a code in the May newsletter. As you only get given one code you'll need to arrange for trades online or with buddies to have all three.

Glad I have multiple email accounts for the news letter, increased my chances to get at least 2 out of three. The spares if I get any will either be traded or wonder traded!

@Peace-Boy The pokemon website only says "an upcoming newsletter" for the UK distribution. They're currently being distributed in Smyths until the 11th April, so I'd guess the newsletter will be after this.
So you don't get to choose which Bird you get?
I hope I get to choose. I have Zapdos in my Y game already, so I don't need a duplicate.
I think if I get a choice, Articuno is what I should go for.
I have a copy of X I started on, and I chose the frog as my starter (which I think means Moltres will be the legendary bird available in that game?)
Those abilities doesn't seems that great tho mostly the downgrade Zapdos got.

@Handy_Man I didn't actually read the article.
Been signed up since the gen 5 starter HA's were being given away, so this is a nice little surprise to see more codes. If you guys are worried about spam from them, they hardly ever send emails. Last time I got an email from them was when pokken came out, and before that celebi. Unlike most subscriptions they actually send emails when news happens. It's a nice subscription!

Just hope I get Zapdos....
In the UK the fourth digit identifies the Pokemon. 6 is Aritcuno, 7 is Zapdos and 8 is Moltres.
@Peace-Boy It's the May newsletter, so I assume May 1st (at least that's what the UK article says).
So...uh how do you opt in to the news letter? I can't find any such option for my account over there...
Only Nintendo could give us the bird and make it awesome.

Apparently they don't send a lot of emails because I'm already signed up on both my primary email accounts and don't remember receiving anything in quite a while.
Will you be making an article about how there's a new Hoopa code distribution out now on the Pokémon website? That one kinda slipped under the radar for a lot of people!

@Neko_Ichigofan Yeah, that's right. Sorry, I didn't check the US one! In Britain, at least, you can use the code HOOPA2016 to get a free Hoopa, if you didn't get it from the store code distribution a few months back.
What? You mean, unlike how the headline states, legendary birds won't actually be flying around America in May? How misleading, sir!
I have so many of the legendary birds......
I haven't login to my Pokemon Trainer club account in a long time (i.e first few months after Pokemon XY release). I don't think I ever got a newsletter from them either. I have to look into that one.
I got the UK newsletter today, and it says the code will be available in next month's newsletter. That should mean that people in the EU will get the codes in the May newsletter as well as our US friends.
