Season 19 169

The Pokémon hype train won't be stopping anytime soon, for there's more Pocket Monster content on the way in the coming weeks - in addition to Pokkén Tournament and 20th anniversary goodies. The Pokémon Company's official website confirmed earlier this month that the latest animated television series, Pokémon the Series: XYZ, will air on February 20th 2016 on Cartoon Network in the US.

The announcement also details that a new episode will air every Saturday throughout the year, with the series focusing on the "deepest mysteries of the Kalos region" and the "secrets of Legendary Pokémon Zygarde". Here's an extract of the announcement:

The new season of Pokémon animation is coming to Cartoon Network in February! In Pokémon the Series: XYZ, follow Ash, Pikachu, and their friends as they explore the deepest mysteries of the Kalos region! Team Flare has plans for the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde and the secret it holds. Alain's ongoing search for the source of Mega Evolution intersects with our heroes' adventures. And true to Gym Leader Olympia's prediction, Ash and his Frogadier will work together to reach surprising new heights! Journey into uncharted territory with the latest season of Pokémon animation!

So far, this is the closest thing we have to the highly-anticipated fan-dubbed "Pokémon Z" entry to the video-game series; a game that hasn't even been announced but seems a very logical fit in completing the XY trilogy. Are you looking forward to Ash's latest adventure, or does bearing the thought of him potentially parting ways with yet another awesome Poké just eat you up inside?
