Yooka-Laylee has clearly won over plenty of gamers, from Rare fans to those with fond memories of collect-a-thon 3D adventure platformers on Nintendo 64, and others who simply like exciting projects. It raised over £2 million before its Kickstarter campaign reached a close.
The game itself is naturally some way off, but this fan animation from the mashed YouTube channel already works to build up the characters of the main cast. For a fan-effort this is rather impressive, so much so that there could be worse ideas than developers Playtonic Games contacting this animation team to explore an official series with agreed scripts and voice acting. Well, we'd watch it!

lol so thats the truth in what happend to Banjo really.
Nice, I could imagine this being a morning kids cartoon.
It seems really professionally made, even casted like something I'd expect to see on TV.
I really liked it!
Eww, I can't stand animations like this :S
The art and animation definitely have a My Little Pony vibe, except the animations look less like they were made in flash. I like it!
Big props to the animators! This was fantastic
I loved it, really good. And they kind of converse like I imagine they would.
That was so cool. Great job!
Great little cartoon! I'm sure the guys over at Playtonic will be pleased.
Excellent!1 So full of charm and character!!
I hope they talk to Playtonic and have a set of these for the game or something!
The stupid bear couldn't even make it through
three levels and get enough notes for Note Door 2!
I'll steal Tooty's looks and then I'll be gorgeous for days!
She'll be missing in the next game anyways...
i don't get it...
(lol jk. love your work, jan. hopefully hasbro doesn't claim this one as well...)
Heh, that was pretty good.
That explains what happened to Banjo-Threeie. xD
I loved everything about it! The animation, the personalities, the voice actors, etc. I don't understand what happened at the end, but judging by the comments, I suppose I should have played more Banjo-Kazooie.
m'lady tips hat
Lol, poor Banjo and Kazooie. Nice animation by the way.
"I don't understand what happened at the end, but judging by the comments, I suppose I should have played more Banjo-Kazooie"
Spoiler: They probably didn't have enough music-notes to open the note door, so end of the road for them. End of spoiler.
@Henmii @Nicolai Yooka and Laylee Took their collectables accidentally. So that's game over for Banjo and Kazooie.....
Hah. That was excellent. On many levels. Voices were great. Humor and timing was good. It had an ending punchline. The whole thing was very solid.
