The A+Start YouTube channel specialises in showing off fun game glitches, both practical and otherwise, and its latest video is sure to be worth a watch for Pokémon fans. It tackles Pokémon Gold & Silver, and in particular the lengthy method for obtaining one of the rarest 'mon in the games.
We're talking about Celebi, and it can be obtained by triggering a key glitch in the games. It's a fiddly process, but demonstrates just how code and memory limitations can be manipulated to great effect in games. There are some other fun bits and bobs, too.
Check it out below and let us know if you're planning to give it a try.

A+ Start is the easier way to get the glitched Celebi. And you get a hidden mini game... how awesome.
Plus using emulator codes would work quicker but glitch in I'd fun
That's not news...
@PaperMario64 Good comment!
Also, for the two sets of 44 Dire Hit to access the minigame- couldn't you put one sets of 99 Dire Hit and then deposit one more so there are two groups of Dire Hit, then withdraw 55 from the first group and add 43 to the second? That way you only need 100 dire hit instead of 198. Would that not work?
Shame you can't trade said celebi to 6th gen game
Now I want to play older Pokemon games.
Well you can trade your original RGBYGSC to the newer versions with the Team Rocket Gamecube disc.
Basically it is an program where you can utilize the the Gameboy Advance Link to Gamecube Cable, to mimic an trade.
You get ditto and your pokemon gets transferred. Then you can send it back to the GBA game and then to the NDS/3DS games.
Other stats like training and etc are omitted.
I miss the original games. Sad part the original Green and Red games were never released and all we got were two versions of blue. IDK about GSC but we never got the Wireless cellphone trading thing with Crystal. We could have plugged the Gameboy into the phone to link up with people around the world.
But nooooooooooooooooo......People outside of Japan are less then human. We are considered not-human or "the enemy" Gajin, or whatever term is used now. We never got all the great RPG games from the SNES days because they felt we were not smart enough. I guess they are right as Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy VII was the thing to get RPG stapled to westerners brains.
Now the real question is does this Celebi glitch work on Pokemon Crystal?
I really should play HGSS again, this video has reminded me of Johto's excellence.
I've heard of a Celebi glitch before, but never bothered to do it. I've done the Mew glitch in Blue before just for the sake of it.
I just got Celebi from Pokemon Bank
I'm not a big of fan of glitches these days but a shot at Celebi I might have to take. I wonder about getting mew... Could try what my brother did in yellow I guess
I'd love to try this, but the battery save in my copy of Gold died some time ago and I don't intend to get a replacement battery put in if that'll eventually die too.
I remember being blown away when I attempted the Mew glitch in Blue for a mate and it actually worked. People must be crazy or brilliant to find stuff like this.
@RegalSin
You wouldn't happen to actually have a source for that, would you? The only method I'm aware of is using save editors to see the stats, calculate the changes, and copy them onto a hacked mon for newer games. Its basically substituting hacked Pokemon, so if the method you're describing works the same way then its not legit, but eh.
As for the rest, "less than human" is a bit extreme for games not being deemed profitable to localize, don't you think? We didn't get the mobile phone service because we didn't get the adapter either, which you need to do the event. It's likely another failed add-on issue.
This glitch sounds like a rumor your friend will tell you about like the rumors of a mew behind a hidden truck in red and blue.
@ChaoticBull Try it then.
