Peripheral maker Razer is famed for its PC and console controllers, but it hasn't supported the Wii U so far. However, that all looks set to change as CEO Ming-Liang Tan has confirmed via Twitter that the company is "definitely considering" supporting Nintendo's console in the future.
When asked if Razer would be supporting the PS4 and Wii U - both of which will be seeing a lot of action in Fighting Game Tournaments next year - the reply was:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a big draw on the fighting game circuit, while the PS4 will be playing host to Street Fighter V, so it's hardly a surprise that Razer is finally considering these two platforms.
Perhaps we'll see a proper arcade fighting stick for the Wii U? Or maybe a variant on the classic GameCube pad, tailored for Smash? Let us know what you think of this news by posting a comment.

Would be awesome. I know it's abit old now but I just love playing Tekken Tag 2 with a proper arcade stick.
Can't wait to see their designs, if they go with it. If it's worth buying, I always add it to my wishlist for later.
No....more...contollers....
Seriously though, does someone, at all, play Super Smash 4 professionally with anything else than the original Gamecube controller?
Why? This is completely pointless! Smash is the only fighter that sees any proper activity, and that game is probably the most arcade-stick-unfriendly game of all time - the controls don't work with that at all! And the measly reast of "fighters" are some of the worst we could get on WiiU, so anything's wasted on them.
If Smash bros popularity helps bring some more fighting games onto the Wii U then bring it on I say! But like
@Kaze_Memaryu says Smash bros is not arcade stick friendly at all.
However I am getting quite used to the Wii U pro controller now for smash bros!
@Eldin I think I saw one person play with a Pro Controller at Evo '15, but that was it. But it was the fact that someone left Tap Jump on that amazed me. You'd think ALL professional Smashers turn off Tap Jump.
A good arcade fighting stick would help tempt devs and publishers to bring more ighting games to Wii U to cater to the crowd.
@Moon I'm with you.
@MadAdam81 I don't think so. Tekken didn't sell very well on Wii U, there is no enough audience for traditional fighting games on the system. Just for Smash.
Few years ago I build my own controllers for Mame emulator. Playing was awsome. Arcade controller for Wii U will be incredible

@wiiucompl That is an amazing piece of work, Good Job
This one looks good for those in the market for a fighting stick. This one from MadCatz features Sanwa parts, so I guess you could easily modify it if you need to adjust the joystick or buttons parts.

@SPLAofTOON I was gonna mention the Tekken Tag 2 Wii U stick. I never did get my hands on that one, though I know that it functioned like the Tatsunoko stick, i.e. as a Classic Controller.
I'd love to have one that is recognised by the system as a Pro Controller, but I'm well aware that if these guys do make a Wuu peripheral, it'll most likely be fashioned after the GameCube's. That's not a bad thing, but as a fighting game fan, I sure wish that more such games and sticks would come our way.
@tobbonni I've actually come to prefer the Pro Controller over GCN for Smash. This is partially because I don't own the necessary adapter, but also because the 3DS version kinda prepped me for that button layout in the game. Also, I really don't have all that much trouble adjusting to new control schemes, in general.
I still have a decent Hori arcade stick for the Wii, I used to use it for various VC games... and for Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
I don't watch tournaments, but what Smash player would ever want a fight stick? The game is so optimized for the GameCube / Pro Controller. Has there even been a Nintendo system arcade stick since the NES Advantage?
@JJtheTexan there was an advantage for the snes as well and a 3rd party one for GameCube.the 64 also had a fightpad as well not sure about a stick though.
@tovare queue Those are hard to find since madcatz stopped making them a little while back.
@VeeFlamesNL Tap Jump is important because you can jump out of shield in smash. Having tap Jump on allows you to immediately do up-smash or up-b out of shield which is a staple for certain characters.
@KilluaZoldyck You could also map the jump button to one of the shoulder buttons to accomplish, effectively, the same thing. I set R to jump simply because I don't need two shield buttons and I prefer playing without tap jump. If I want to up b/smash out of shield, I would be able to press the shoulder jump simultaneously with the other input. But it's mostly player preference, anyhow.
@Kaze_Memaryu who said they'd make a stick for sm4sh? They make traditional controllers as well.
@Monado_III I know they make regular controllers, as well. But they explicitly mentioned Fighting Game tournaments, for which anything other than Arcade Sticks are extremely unlikely. Barely any professional player bothers with controllers to begin with, and those who do largely stick to the default choice. Razor wouldn't be so foolish as to try and sell controllers to the fighting game crowd.
I'll only buy a razer controller if Mad Catz is willing to supply me a free back up controller for when it craps out. Trollolololol.
It be pretty cool, to see what kind of controllers Razor would make for the Nintendo. If Razor does starting making controllers for Nintendo, then I'd be interested in getting one.
The hilarious thing about the timing of this article (and the tweet) is Momochi's Razer Fight Stick broke during the Grand Finals of Ultra Street Fighter 4 at EVO 2015 2 days ago. The Bracket was reset and it was 2-2 vs GamerBee with 1 round (first to 2) for Momochi, and Momochi's Razer Fight Stick broke and gave out a pause signal. After spending roughly 5-7 minutes to look for another stick (I think he was looking for a Razer Stick due to his sponsorship) Momochi won anyway (GamerBee got 1 round and not the game), but it resulted in people cheering for GamerBee because many felt he deserved the win.
All thanks to the competitive scene. Thank you guys.
A fight stick Pro controller would be neat. Better if you can switch between Classic and Pro modes for Wii and Wii-U software. One issue with Smash is that it uses the analogs for movement and Dpad for taunts. This analog emulation wouldn't work out well with a stick.
I would mostly want the fight stick for VC games. I've built custom joysticks for Atari, NES, and SNES and once you get used to the control scheme, they work well for platformers and other games too, not just fighters or arcade sims.
Fight sticks use different muscle groups (wrist, forefingers) compared to gamepads (mostly thumbs).
@Genesaur The Tekken Tag Wii U arcade stick is a quality piece of kit - All Sanwa parts - only downside is putting the zR button where R normally sits but this will only affect playing some VC games, plus you could always mod it.
It would have been great if Capcom ported more of their arcade remakes on the Wii U much like Dungeons and Dragons. Darkstalkers resurrection, SF III Third Strike would have been great! But business is business sadly.
Oh this is interesting. So the popularity of Super Smash Bros has caught Razer's attention.
As great as the Wii U Pro Controller is, I think it can be improved a bit. The main face buttons are a little too small and tall; I want them wider. The triggers are not really triggers and don't feel that stable; mushy a bit. And please no gloss surface. I played a lot of Mario Kart 8 exclusively with it and the sticks are fine.
