Not so long ago we shared some Japanese commercials for Rhythm Tengoku: The Best Plus on 3DS, which has 100 rhythmic mini-games - 30 are all new and 70 are taken from previous entries.
Known as the Rhythm Heaven series in the West, it's a franchise that some of your humble Nintendo Life writers absolutely love, and we hope this new release will eventually make its way to the West. In the meantime we can enjoy the rather quirky Japanese marketing campaign, which never fails to bring a bit of extra joy to our day.
Four new commercials have been uploaded, featuring the same cast tackling mini-games individually. These videos are slightly strange, and utterly delightful at the same time.
Check them out below and let us know if they bring a smile to your face.

Did they say how many of the GBA games will be in this? Was hoping it would contain everything from the 3 games, but oh well, lol
I just thought about a collection of WarioWare minigames on the 3DS. I really miss the series.
I need this game. If they don't announce a localization at e3 I'm importing.
awwwwwwwwwwwww the last girl is sooooooooooooo cute
i really liked the rhythm heaven game on DS
Nice videos! Heard of these a few days ago. Nice and humorous.
@DinoFett That's impressive, considering they were published by Nintendo in the early hours of this morning (UK time)
These are the latest in a series, the same cast appeared in different versions last week.
These are absolutely awesome!
I can never unwatch the third one. Never in all my life...
I hate this series as much as I love it.
Basically a ridiculously frustrating experience mixed with great songs and animations. Must get it.
@ThomasBW84
Seen similar with the same people on another website.
You must love the Japanese goofiness
Wow, punk-guy and plump-girl are adorable!
the guy in the first one is insane.. and i like that
The Rhythm Heaven games are honestly just...great games.
Seriously...More people need to play these games.
Also; I'm telling you—If Nintendo just used these ads as the ads in the west (just with the English name, Rhythm Heaven, at the end of them) I bet you they would sell the game.
I need this game ;-;
Japanese Johnny Bravo?
That third one was depressing...
I want whatever that last girl is having.
This needs to come to NA
@NintendoFan64 2sad4me
DAT hair tho...
@6ch6ris6 The girl who was pretending to cry looks cute too.
@FJOJR I was thinking the same thing...
Pre loaded the Japanese version. Love this series.
Great Series and looking forward to it if it gets EU release ( Cant import as have a New 3DS). The Videos are hilarious, the bōsōzoku hair is amazing, if only I could get away with that!
@rushiosan What's so frustrating about it? I love how challenging the last levels and remixes always are, but I never found them frustrating
I love these (^_^) Funny commercials are too rare.
Wonder why commercials in my country always are so annoying that I get really angry and can't even force myself to watch.
I either turn the sound off and play Pokémon Shuffle or leave the living room with plans to come back when it's over. Sometimes I forget to continue watching whatever I was watching because they cut to commercials and I started doing something else and in the end I never returned to the TV.
It gets worse every year. When I was a kid, I remember they sent some really funny ones. I even felt like getting things I had seen in commercials before. Now it's like: Oh that's the product from that horrible commercial with that woman I hate. I'm never buying this ever, I don't even want it for free.
@Trash-Boat Hitting a hidden % to pass or fail is always a trial and error experience. Some levels have a higher tolerance margin, others are simply unforgivable. I gave up on the Wii one because of this. Certain remixes require a perfect perfomance (literally perfect) while others just let you fail a bit. Overall it's not a very friendly game for casual players and that's why it ends up in frustration.
That second guy is my hero.
Just in case anyone is wondering who these people are (from top video to bottom:
Yoko Gushiken (former pro boxer, Japanese TV personality.)
Sho Ayanokoji (singer known for the band "Kishidan" and "DJ OZMA".)
Fumika Shimizu (actress and model.)
Kanako Yanagihara (comedian and TV personality.)
Is that Mondo from Danganronpa?
They should just air Japanese Nintendo commercials everywhere. They do a better job than the international advertisements!
No wonder the lady in the third commercial looked familiar, it's Fumika Shimizu.
Man seeing her made me remind of her adorkable acting in Kamen Rider Fourze.
The guy with the big hair reminds me of one of the Yokai from Yokai watch. It was probably inspired by him!
Oh, and Nintendo: Please here at Retail too (at a decent price)! No e-shop only nonsense!!
I'm buying. When can i buy?
