The next game in the Skylanders series has a focus on vehicles, it has been revealed.
Skylanders Superchargers is the name, and this time around you'll be able pilot amazing vehicles in order to stop the evil forces of Kaos.
According to an Amazon listing - which has now been removed - the Starter Pack will contain a new Portal of Power as well as some vehicles. The full reveal is set to take place on June 3rd, so says German magazine Games Master.
What do you make of this latest twist in the Skylanders series? Are you still keen for this franchise, or has amiibo taken all of your attention? Let us know by posting a comment.

All my money will be going to new games coming out this year and the next, and to be honest I've never been interested in Skylanders, nor Disney Infinity. Amiibo all the way!
Already knew about the vehicles but nice to get confirmation
I was gonna give this one a pass this year (really poor distribution of figurines in my country), but if they changed it up and make it a "Mario Kart" style game instead, I'll byte.
Skylanders is getting less and less interesting...I'd rather have Disney Infinity, Amiibo and LEGO Dimensions.
Skylanders: Nuts n' Bolts?
My son loves Skylanders so we will probably end up with this one too. Although he won't get it until Christmas which will give him time to finish the Trap Team game. Have to get him more traps first. We only have life and water traps right now.
Not sure about vehicles now. Was really prepared for them last year and then the traps happened. And I really hated the trap idea until I heard the voicrs in Target and how funny they were. Still havent played it yet but soon.
So while Im tempted to say bye bye Skylanders, hello Lego, Ill wait until Wed to see. But I really wish they kept going w/ the trap portal. I think Disney I ginty is using the same portal for all 3 versions.
@rjejr
Yeah, Disney Infinity has not changed the portal since the first release. This next version won't require you buying the portal again either since the game will be released standalone. It's gotten more consumer friendly each time, I think, which is important perceptually when everything in the game is technically first day, on-the-disk (oh no!!!!), dlc.
I'm chilling on all of this for awhile (says the guy who bought the Splatoon Amiibo 3-pack). Even if I get back into gainful employment (second interview at a good place on Friday!) I'm not going for those launch deals. They were great on Infinity 1.0, but the kids have really spaced out their playing of 2.0 and I got way too many too early. One 2.0 play set is still in hiding, unused. Sure, I never paid full price, but those things go on bigger and bigger sales all the time and nothing has stayed rare. Nothing. The big thing this time is fighting my own inner Star Wars kid.
@aaronsullivan - Nobody can ever fault you for buying that amiibo 3 pack. They are going for $60 on eBay, sell them, get the game for $30.

I'm just kidding, I can't advocate eBay or selling your amiibo 3 pack. (Did I ever tell you about the time I sold plasma to support myself during grad school, summer of 93? True story, body fluids paid well back then. Though I don't advocate that either.)
I have a 10 year old son, I know we'll get Skylanders Superchargers, for his brithday in January like we do every year. And all his relatives will buy him the playsets and figures. Unless it looks bad and we go Lego. I think we may be done w/ Disney. We'll see what the Black Friday sales bring. And E3.
Have barely begun the fact finding, too early to tell.
Will probably grab the base game only. Holding on Lego Dimensions too. At this point Infinity has my money and Amiibo.
