Mario Kart 8 is a game with almost universal appeal, effortlessly able to transcend the boundaries of gender, race and - as the video below proves - age.
Yup, the world-famous React YouTube channel has taken a group of old people, parked them in front of a Wii U playing a copy of Nintendo's famous racing title and shoved controllers into their gnarled hands. The results are predictably amusing, with this selection of elderly individuals arguably supplying more entertaining banter than their younger counterparts.
Do you often force your elderly relatives to play you at Mario Kart 8? Do they show you up by beating you? Let us know by posting a comment below, you young whippersnappers.
Thanks to Dylan Rutland for the tip!

Now I am the oldie, at least as far as my kids are concerned But they'd be more willing to ask their grandparents to play than I ever would.
lol, that old man says what we all think to our wives... "Will you stop talking."
Mario Kart - sweatin' it to the Oldies
They looked like they were having fun, shows how well Nintendo makes their games for all ages.
We're not that far away from the 1st generation of gamers getting to retirement age, have to wonder if its going to be an emerging market in the next decade.
"Because I'm very competitive by spirit...and I cheat a lot." That made me chuckle!
Speaking of Mario Kart 8, I wonder how much longer it'll be before we hear some more details on the next DLC pack. I'm guessing mid-to late April or early May.
I woke up, checked Nintendo Life, and saw this;
I was not disappointed.
The elders always put out the best content in their React episodes! Glad to see they're having fun with it. 😉
Why they didn´t use wiimotes. The motion controller is better for them.
@DBPirate Definitely. They're all so wise and...hilarious, honestly.
@DarkEdi Who knows. Maybe they didn't have enough?
They need to play Nintendo Land, they'll have a blast with that one
That was funny!
Seeing them tilting their controllers makes me wonder if they would've been better off with Wii remotes.
As an official little old lady, I hate this crap. I've loved video games since Pong. My kids were the envy of the neighborhood because they had all the systems other than the Virtual Boy because I wanted to play them, too.
Who do they think have been playing games the last 3 decades: foetuses?
Now everyone get off my damn lawn: I'm rockin' MM on my 3ds xl.
While these videos are still pretty fun, they'd be a lot better if they taught them the controls beforehand. Nobody knew how to drift, nobody got a turbo start, half of them didn't know how to use their items, and a couple of them even had to be told to hold A to go.
They might all have done better with Wii remotes. They seemed to want to use motion controls without realizing it.
