This week saw an incredible event in the world of Nintendo -- the company's European arm gave a select bunch of fans the chance to buy the New Nintendo 3DS before its official launch in the region.
Even more amazing is that the consoles have been posted out within 24 hours of the original announcement, and Nintendo Life reader Kevin Moss is one of the lucky few who now has a limited edition New 3DS cradled in his sweaty palms.
Kevin has kindly supplied some images for your viewing pleasure, which you can gaze longingly at below -- just try not to get too jealous in the process.

impressive it looks comfortable to hold too.
Any info on "Ambassador Program" for New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition?
OMG I am feel so damn proud right now, not only I got my new 3ds but it got posted to Nintendo Life too!
I find it funny how the Ambassador program was more to apologize to those who paid such a steep price for the 3DS only for it to drop in price so quickly and now.... they are announcing them which tells you a lot of people gave them hassle about missing it... now it is going to be a selling point.
what's with the touch screen?
It's not that I'm jealous, I swear!
i like the ambassador face plate but that's it.
kinda pissed that i am an ambassador but did not get an email. i bought the 3DS on launch day! for freaking 250€ !!! you can not get more "ambassador", nintendo !!!
I'm not jealous!
face turns green
Seriously!
Seriously, I'm not jealous.
Well, I was still thinking about getting normal or XL size, but this ambassador stuff kills all doubt. I was wondering if it still meant anything to 'be' an 'ambassador', but then I got the mail.
For the second time.
Me right now:
Even I'm jealous, and mine still need to arrive.
I wish they would announce it for NA already. I already have $100 set aside for it.
Touch screen was just showing the wallpaper lol it reflected when I took the photo
yeah am an ambassador too but no email. Not sure what I have done wrong lol
I'm not jealous i swear!
So simple yet so sweet.
@SuperCharlie78 It still has that bit of plastic over it, for protection during transit.
Dang it! Can't wait till mine arrives :<
My mouth is watering.

Here's the famous 'Cfgk24' NEW 3ds Unboxing video!

I'm liking that tagline.
@6ch6ris6 You can be more ambassador by wearing one of the 3.000 numbered shirts which were given to the first 3.000 people who registred a 3DS. (https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/3ds/europes_club_nintendo_award_special)
I wonder why I didn't get one of these?
I'm an Ambassador too.
Big high fives to those that got it. That's an awesome piece that any Nintendo fan should love to have. I'm crossing my fingers for NOA to offer it. Even though I was planning to hold out for the new XL model, I'd love a shot at owning that and would accept the downgrade in screen size.
So, just to remind everybody: This has nothing to do with the previous Ambassador Program for people who bought their 3DS before the price-drop.
That name is a teeeeeerrible idea...
Expect a few "New Nintendo 3DS doesn't make it to the Top whatever UK charts"
Then again UK doesn't like anything other than Fifa and Playstation.
I'm hearing that it does not come with a registration card? Is this true? No VIP points!
@Lord
No, it does not. Instead the registration process is supposed to be like that of the Wii U.
Registration will apparently not be possible until the official UK/EU launch of the New 3DS.
I'm personally hoping that my New 3DS XL imported from Australia will be eligible for registration.
@RupeeClock
Pfft what's the point I've registered hundreds of games and tens of consoles in my lifetime on that damn site filled out endless amounts of surveys and I didn't get no stinking email... I'm not bitter about it though...
@Melkac To be fair, the 3DS does moderately well here. Not FIFA/GTA//CoD numbers, but that's the unholy trinity that can never be dethroned, -nothing- does that well over here. I imagine the New 3DS will have a bit of a problem in sales; until there's more marketing, software et cetera to differentiate it more from the "old" 3DS - which will be, I imagine, the case in the US, too, even with Nintendo having slightly more of a "base" over there.
Also, I just received an email - my Ambassador Edition will arrive tomorrow. I'm more than a little excited.
Is it as much of a dust magnet as a normal 3DS or did they fix it
@Rebel81 I picked up my original blue 3ds at launch on midnight, but the Tshirts were all gone as some people got the 3ds early
@Robo-Knight apparels 3ds ambassadors were not guaranteed but other methods were used
To get the email I had 2 3ds 1 2ds and a 3dsxl all registered so I got the email
@JasonAnArgoNOT64 the covers are a gloss quality and due to the inside being white I felt the dust won't get attracted as much
Also super stable 3d has to be seen its loads better
I'd love to see one of these New 3DS models in the actual colours of the SNES. So the unit would be light greyish, just off white, with a darker grey area possibly around the buttons, which would be the four coloured faces buttons in the same hues and tones as seen on the Jap/Pal SNES controller and the darkest grey on some of the other buttons like Start,Select and on the D-pad. I think something along those lines would look gorgeous. Not that these units don't look gorgeous already.

@wolvesboy Kevin, I hate you...
P.S- Not really, but I'm super jelly; nice pics!
@wolvesboy
That's not the reason you got the email I have 1 2DS 1 3DS and 3 XL's and over 40 3DS games and no email and as you can no doubt tell I'm pretty annoyed about it!
Best tagline this year! Between this and the Wombles one, cheered me right up this morning.
Funny how everyone seems to be complaining about Nintendo re-releasing the 3DS with slightly different branding.
Sure, there is at least one game that will not be playable on current systems, but just remember: PSOne, PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim, Xbox 360 Elite, PS Vita (without OLED), PSP 2000, PSP 3000, DSi, Wii Mini and let's not forget all the DS and 3DS iterations (XL and Lite, to be specific).
Personally, I think the increased CPU, RAM, vRAM, battery life, size, enhanced 3D, new C-stick and additional buttons are exactly what the system needed.
We've already seen, on Vita, that super HD isn't necessary for a handheld.
With what they've added, Nintendo likely won't announce the system's successor until E3 '16 at the earliest.
As long as Nintendo keeps rolling out 4-6 key first party efforts annually, they've got the 3rd party support Wii U doesn't.
I'll likely pick up a black or blue XL this summer and that'll be it until the big PS4 system seller hits.
I seriously hope us US members get this love too.. Not that I'd be able to afford it til next friday, so take your time Nintendo xD
Got mine today in bonnie scotland, free delivery, its great a nice upgrade.
I need this!
@Great_Gonzalez wow impressive collection, it's a shame not everyone got the email, I am super honoured myself to have got one, in fact even my fiancée got one
@wolvesboy
Well I'm happy for you and congrats I have unfortunately had to resort to ebay :/
I need this in my life. (NOA hurry up and announce it already!)
