With Super Smash Bros. for Wii U creeping ever closer, Masahiro Sakurai is still using his Miiverse Pic of the Day posts to show off the game and reveals some new details. Not every entry is particularly thrilling or full of information, but today's post does show us two challenges that'll be found in the Events mode, which is in the home console version after skipping the portable equivalent.
Two Events have been outlined by Sakurai-san, with each designed to show the variety on offer.
It's Past Your Bedtime sets up another predetermined situation for a single-player Event. In this one, Jigglypuff needs to put every fighter to sleep at the same time. There are quite a few scenarios like this that aren't simply brawls.
Events will be structured in progression paths on the Wii U, while there'll be separate challenges to take on in two-player co-op; we had a little hands on time with the mode for our recent Super Smash Bros. for Wii U preview.
Considering the fact it had its own recent broadcast, meanwhile, we expect Smash Bros. to perhaps only make a brief appearance in today's Nintendo Direct, with an obvious character reveal a potential candidate.
Are you looking forward to Events in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, or is it a mode that you'll likely ignore? Let us know.

The first event seems cool. Second one looks hard!
I loved Brawls events, so this looks great. The loan one is genious!
Can you kill Tom Nook in this game, if so it will sell more copies than any Nintendo game ever........combined.
An obvious character reveal eh.. Another DLC character!
I kind of hope the events in this one don't all force you to be a certain character. Most of Melee's events let you pick, but most of Brawl's picked for you, and I wasn't a fan of that.
I hope we can use alternate costumes for character specific events, can't pay my loan if I'm not using the correct Villager.
I'm fine with there being a Duck Hunt trailer in todays Direct, but if half of the Direct is going over features we already know about and or useless ones, I WILL BE MAD.
I absolutely love the fact that even the clown's face in Bowser Jr's ship is asleep. That kind of details makes the game even more awesome!
@Porky There's one character from the 3DS that has yet to be 'announced' and have their own 'joins the fight' video. I doubt we'll see anything for SSB previously unannounced. I'd love to see it though!
Personally, I'm hoping for more info on Mario Maker!
THE HYPE!!!
at these time i wonder what i was thinking when i got the 3DS over a Wii U...
@LordOfGamez
apart from this, DK Tropical Freeze and MK8 wiiu has been poor this year, whereas the 3ds has great 3rd party support. next year should be great particularly with Fire Emblem X SMT. only nintendo could hold down the fort with exclusives alone and a few quality indies
p.s. only just got my hands on Shin Megami Tensei 4 on 3ds and it is awesome
@Kurtz i guess so, probably just waiting for an affordable 32GB Wii U bundle ^_^
