If you thought your gaming collection was something extraordinary, think again. eBay enthusiast reel.big.fish — perhaps better known as Aaron “NintendoTwizer” Norton — has decided to auction his entire collection of consoles, games, and gaming memorabilia. This includes more than 5,700 games, with systems (and their variants) ranging from Nintendo to Xbox, and even Atari. He’s even offered his very own custom-built and painted shelves in which these treasured artefacts lay rest upon.
Aaron is a well-established gaming collector, and so this news has come as more of a shock as opposed to an opportunity to those ready to empty their pockets (we even interviewed him earlier this year). Nevertheless, it’s a great chance for those old-school gamers willing to educate the younger generation on the origins of their favourite gaming icons – or simply to own a Goliath of a collection that puts all gaming stores to shame.
But there’s no such thing as a free lunch. The latest impending owner should be prepared to hear their wallet echo, for the asking price is a whopping $164,000. Yep, it’s that big a deal, and some would argue that this is in fact a generous starting offer. If you’re interested, or want to keep an eye out on how the auction is progressing, have a gander here. Alternatively, check out the list of every title in the collection.
Why Aaron is deciding to sell his life-long gems is unknown, but one thing’s for sure, the new potential owner will have just kissed their social life goodbye.

Whoever gets this will be pretty happy (their wallet probably won't). TBH, I just wish my gaming collection was as well presented as this one.
Isn't a bad starting price, if someone had that kind of cash.
He's going digital (VC, PS Now, Steam) so he's selling them.
Are video game fans without a big collection of games not mega video game fans? Makes one wonder if the requirement to be a mega video game fan is money and not time spent on actually playing video games.
Not a great idea to just sell such an impressive collection. He'll miss them in a day. But yeah generous offer but i wouldn't be able to get them until i'm rich and live in a bigger home
He just discovered emulators...
Whoa...that is an impressive collection. 0_0 I wonder how much buying all of those games individually to add to the collection cost...
My Wii U, 3DS, PS3, and PSV collections are better than his. B)
I love the way he has all the Mario titles at the top and then all the Zelda titles underneath displayed in chronologically order.
A very proud, dedicated and passionate gamer indeed.
Most of my childhood consisted of selling my older generation collection in order buy the next generation system so I don't have much beyond the GameCube. I'm now to the point of wanting to download everything because I don't intend or need to sell old games anymore and because I don't have space to store games that I don't play anymore. I'm okay with paying for the experience of playing through a game or story. I don't need a physical copy in my hands or on my shelf.
Yummy! I wants it
If I only had the room, or the money...
Wow, that is beyond impressive! Those cutsom-made shelves are so cool!
Well as long as the seller is sure... sellers remorse can creep up on you years later in my experience. I'd definitely end up regretting the sale to some extent if it was me (especially the Mario and Zelda lines, which he's clearly fond of).
Wow, that is really probably cheap for what he's selling. Though it'd be tempting to buy it and flip it, I think selling all those individually would be a full time job for 2 years!
EDIT: Wait a minute, he pulled out some of the most valuable games. He's pretty slick about it too:
"Note: Stadium Events was a recalled game pulled from the store shelves and not part of this set.", "Note: Three games that I don’t consider part of the retail set (sold or store shelves) are not included. Those are Donkey Kong Competition cart, StarFox Super Weekend and Speed Racer/Mountain Bike Combo."
Looks like he pulled out the most valuable items to sell them separately.
He's moving to a yet-to-be-built house, that's why he is selling everything.
It would be nice if there was a video gaming museum.
Cool, but part of the fun for me is finding the games though for a fair price.
@ekreig Why would it be an understatement? With most games being loose cartridges, there is hardly an item condition worse than this.
@Nintendo_Ninja The price is WAY too high with most games coming without their original boxes and manuals. Also, there are bound to be hundreds of sports games among all of those games. Nobody's going to be paying this much money for it when even individual purchases of each and every game on offer here would cost you less in the end.
5700 games...you couldn't ever play them all... and probably wouldn't want to. I find it hard to find time keeping up with new release. Even if I had the money, surely its better and a lot cheaper to just buy the games you want from somewhere else.
People complaining here that it's overpriced aren't wrong about the value of loose carts... but it doesn't seem like a bad value all things considered.
Think of it this way: if someone was going to spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on an "instant" video game collection, then that person would probably be rich enough to care more about convenience than getting the lowest possible price. (At least, that's my guess.)
I bet GameStop would be:
"I'll give ya 100$ for all"
@Gridatttack LOL. Too true.
@ShanaUnite
thats what is happening these days actually. most of the youtube celebrities dont really play/beat their games. theres a way to balance both sides of that lifestyle but most people dont. i collect and beat all my games. everyone should
is this guy the actual "Twiizer" person?
@foobarbaz
Great. As I said before, my opinion differs from yours. I'm not saying your evaluation is wrong - just that there are scenarios where people might buy at an inflated price, and he only needs to find one person to make the listing worthwhile.
When it comes to collecting older games I'm really only interested in the stuff that's not going digital. I don't know, I just don't understand why people value some of the older games higher than the digital versions. Except the gold Zelda cartridges. Those are really cool. But Megaman 7 still $100? Come on guys, why? It's on the Wii U now and there is no benefit to playing it on the SNES.
@evosteevo
If you think thats bad, I just check Amazon and the original Super Mario Bros. Ii going for the low, low price of just $799.99.
Didn't that game sell 100mil. copies? A lot of these games aren't even rare, just limited due to being out of print. The funny thing is with games like Earthbound nobody wanted it, it got tossed in the bargain bin. Now its $80+ a pop for loose carts.
Thought those shelves looked familiar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn thats a real shame he is selling it all off best of luck to him, if this auction stays quiet I might try and make an offer on at least the shelves maybe a few games too... Really impressive collection!
