A few weeks ago WayForward confirmed that it would be bringing its latest 3DS eShop release, Mighty Switch Force! 2 to the Wii U. It has previous form in bringing its handheld titles to the home console with an extra HD sheen, of course, with Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition.
It seems that the release isn't going to be too far away, with well-known WayForward man Matt Bozon confirming a target month of October.
In addition, WayForward has begun a countdown to early next week for a mystery Kickstarter campaign, which is sure to get fans of the development studio talking.
So, are you looking forward to Mighty Switch Force! 2 on the Wii U eShop, and what do you think WayForward's kickstarter campaign will be? Let us know in the comments below.

I'm guessing the KickStarter game will be the 4th Mighty game (not counting MSF2)
Wow, I did not have to wait that much. And according to them, this was currently "in the backburner".
Which begs the question, what is their main project? Hopefully that kickstarter sheds light on that.
Aside from that, I would love to have them remaster Ducktales 2 as well, but that is Capcom's decision. Alan Young and June Foray will not live forever, you know?
@sinalefa isn't it, Shantae: the pirates curse?
I just beat this on 3DS today! Another great game from Wayforward!
Maybe we can hope for the other Mighty titles in HD on Wii U...
@yoshisfood2go
Now that you mention it, I think you are right. I really need to get the first two.
I am worried that there still is no mention of this being a Hyper Drive Edition. I hope it is
Once I beat the last level of Mighty Switch Force one, I will gladly get MSF2 for the 3DS. I like the look of the 3DS versions of Mighty Switch Force compared to the Wii U version.
Now for their new game, well anything Wayforward is usually top notch
Hope the Wii U version will have added content like the first game's Wii U Edition.
I think the Wii U version of MSF was more successful than the 3DS version so...yeah.
That, and it got much better scores.
I wish they had made DuckTales better.
I don't think much of Wayforward now.
(Mighty Switch Force plays like a tech demo. I really liked Contra 4 didn't like DuckTales. Not played the Smurfs. Liked the Dsiware Shantae until I played the first one then I realised they didn't do it as well as they could and killed the difficulty and length.)
Shovel Knight looks interesting but that is not Wayforward.
a boy and his blob for wii u!
that game deserves full HD treatment
They're Wayforward, why do they need a Kickstarter? Did they bother to go to third parties for funding?
Can't wait to try out this game.
I bet it'll be called 'Mighty Switch Force! 2: Hydro Drench Edition'.
If I were dreaming I'd say a boxed AllMighty HD Collection Wii U disc, with the dsi games ported as well. But even though I'm tired of working night shifts, I'm too awake to believe that's ever going to happen. Sadly.
@unrandomsam so do you recomend skipping the dsi one i have the first one on vc and love it
I bought Shantae, love it. Currently beating the **** out of snakes to earn dough.
Whatever this whole thing is I hope it works out to WiiU's favor.
to be honest i really wouldn't mind if they released MSF! 3 already
i really enjoyed the first 2 games..... wish they'd make another..
I think Wayforward is one of this generations great platform builders. There is not a whole lot they do that I do not like. I know everyone enjoys the Arkham Series, but there take on Brave and the Bold was pretty good.
I found this one too similar to the first MSF! It felt like a simple dlc, not a full new game.
I don't understand the high praise WayForward gets around here. They make good games but not rhat good. I have MSF!, MSF!2, Mighty Flip Champs, Aliens: Infestation and Shantae: Risky's Revenge and they range from good (MSF!, Flip Champs) to boring and overrated (Shantae).
That said, I'll keep buying their games if they are appealing enough but won't give them the credit people here does until they make something truly remarkable and then do another great game.
Edit: I played Contra 4 a bit and didn't find it that glorious either but its genre is not among my favs so I don't take it into account.
I can't wait for this game!
@DarkCoolEdge I like the first Shantae
(Thought I liked the other one but I no longer do. A sequel should be at least as long and as difficult as the original. And it is now twice the price of the best one). The DSiware one should have been £2.50 for it to be fairly priced.
Quite liked Contra 4 (Think I would prefer the retail version of commandos to it - I only have the DSiware).
Funny thing is the Wayforward 2D engine controls are always perfect. (Most important thing for me).
(Treasure or G-Rev have made very little that I know about that I don't like by comparison.)
Or Compile never released any junk for the whole time they were releasing games. (Wayforward are not like that for me).
Already have MSF2 on my 3DS, and love it. I will be passing on picking this Wii U version up, but maybe when MSF3 comes out, I will hold out long enough.
Bought the first two on 3DS and bought the HD version of MSF on Wii U. I absolutly love Wayforward. Now bring me a Wii U Shantae!!!
