Occasionally we like to show the best of video game culture, snippets of creativity and ingenuity that show the love some have for our favourite hobby. Today the spotlight should focus on the engineers from student-run organization X-Labs from the University of Florida (USF).
According to scientific explanations that we don't fully understand, the team created an electronic transformer circuit that fires sparks 10-15 feet; the model created generates pitch and sound to match those great sparks of fire. There was a noble goal, as X-Labs founder Joe Register explained that this is in aid of giving a fun show to encourage kids to be interested in science, with the creation going on display at the upcoming USF Engineering Expo from 22nd/23rd February.
Naturally, after working on this Tesla coil for two years, there was only one tune to play. Step up... Mario.
