Ubisoft is comfortably the most supportive third-party developer in Wii U's launch window, releasing a mixture of ports and exclusive titles that cover genres suitable for less experienced players, through to blockbusters for those who'd call themselves hardcore. It seems the publisher's support is set to step up a notch further, with a Uplay app seemingly on the way to the Wii U eShop.
Uplay is a little like a Ubisoft equivalent to Club Nintendo, though it's directly tied into games and tracks your progress and achievements. You receive points as you go, and these can be used for rewards such as wallpapers or in-game items and content, a bespoke achievements system, in effect. While we already knew that Uplay would be supported on Wii U, it's transpired that the user manual for ZombiU confirms the arrival — seemingly not far away — of a dedicated app on the Wii U eShop.
While Uplay has apps for PC and iPhone, most of its integration with games on Xbox 360 and PS3 is through the games themselves. Perhaps it's because the "U" brand is such an ideal fit, but Ubisoft seems keen to offer a more substantial service on Wii U.
Have you used Uplay before on another system? Does this sound like something that you'll be interesting in trying, or are you indifferent to services like this? Let us know in the comments below.

Cheers to Ubisoft! Other Third Party Devs, take notes.

This sounds great, actually.
At least someone's doing it. While it's not as good as if it went directly to your Wii U user profile i think i'll try it whenever i get the console.
Cool nvr tried it but it seems something fun
Ubisoft really seems to like Wii U. This makes them extra awesome.
@True_Hero WiiUbisoft
(laughs)
Ha. Ask this question on a PC forum and you'd get the opposite response. As far as PC gaming goes, Ubi are about as popular as EA and Activision with players.
U-Play is primarily a form of DRM on the PC. I've purposely avoided buying Ubi games because it's bad enough having to rely on a Steam account to 'rent' your games, let alone having an additional layer of DRM added into the mix. I think Steam's a really good service, but at the same time, there are some troubling aspects to it that a lot of people overlook.
Back in July, every person trying to play a Ubi game requiring U-Play couldn't, because the server was down for maintenance. You couldn't log into play your game.. There was no forewarning or anything. They just did it. I can't remember how long it lasted, but it was for more than a day I believe, which is utterly ridiculous. Of course, they have the usual 'down for server maintenance' rubbish periodically that all of these services do.
I guess i feel that none of the stuff they offer enhances my gaming experience. Achievements??? They're ok..i don't get the big deal. It's the sort of thing that should be 'optional' not 'required'. Having to rely on an external server to play a primarily 'offline' game is a joke. It constitutes an infringement of consumer rights as far as i'm concerned...but hey, if people out there like it, and the service it provides, who am I to argue??
I learn more about these things reading people's comments than reading articles.
i freaking love uplay... the thing i dont see how it will work on the wii u since its tied in with the games and reaching the achivements so that you can unlock points to used to buy costumes and weapons least for assassins creed games is always good not to mention the themes ^-^ its the first thing i buy
if they rly added it to wii u i sure hope it ends up well like im used to using it
Ubisoft does what Nintendon´t.
I can't find it in the Canadian eshop. it is up?
