Last week 3DS sales jumped 50% thanks to Kid Icarus: Uprising; this week it's Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance bringing about the rise.
Square Enix's Disney crossover RPG sold 213,579 units in its first week. By comparison, Kid Icarus shifted 132,526 copies in its first seven days on sale, but this week dropped to fourth place with sales of 47,179. Kingdom Hearts was released on 29th March, and these charts span 26th March to 1st April, so this isn't a full week's sales for Sora and crew.
On the hardware front, Nintendo sold 121,921 3DS consoles across Japan, an increase of 30% on last week's 94,011 sales. 3DS sales have leapt 90% in the past two weeks thanks to the combined power of Pit, Disney and limited edition hardware releases such as this Kingdom Hearts 3DS bundle.

Wow... the Vita is really doing terrible. Time for a price drop?
D: Want's this one really bad.
Between this and Monster Hunter, that's at least two 3DS games that Japan has that I want.
@Mk_II
Vita>3DS
the more i see, the more i want!!!
Wow monster hunter is approaching 1.5 million! Not surprising but still.
@Jamouse
Tell that to the japanese...
3DS Software>Vita Software
Kid Icarus's sales in Japan were a little annoying. With the quality of that title it should have tripled sales of the 3DS.
@Mk_II
I don't think the PS Vita can go any lower I think 250 was as low as they could possibly get it I think it'll be a while before they do a price drop.
Also I WANT KH!!!
I want this game so much,i've already spoiled myself and seen the full game online(including secret endings and a secret disney boss). :3
Damn, looks like that KH game is really good.
Nice to see KH do well, I'm looking forward to the NA release hopefully later this year.
I want KH here now! Can't wait to get my hands on it. I will make sure not to spoil the story before it comes out, I want to play the game and find out myself! <3
Great to see that the 3DS is doing so good in Japan.
KH is my most anticipated 3DS game! Can't wait for it to arrive in the US.
I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game in my life, sadly. But i'm definitely going to start with this one. I've read quite a few pieces on it to catch up on the story(if that's possible ) But this one looks fantastic.... Famitsu gave it 38/40... second highest in the series behind KH II
@Jamouse Lol, you sure you're on the right site or did you actually just create an account to troll, lol )

@Kid3dizzy Thanks, but so far away.....
@ChosenOne25
Well, when you think about think, the Vita is clearly better than the 3DS: It has more power, a bigger screen and more control inputs . However, as @C-Olimar said, the 3DS software is much better than the vita software. I wasn't trolling, I was just stating a valid point
I laugh at these this is > then that post wars. Because most of it really is based off of personal opinions!!! All I ask is no bashing Nintendo as some people on here do so.
@Assassin87 Agreed. That's why this is my favorite game site.... nice, intelligent people..
Yeah true. I rarely use the 3d effect. It makes my eyes hurt. So my niece's. The dual screen isn't really needed! So many would much prefer a PS VITA with 3ds software. Why they dont join forces? Dont they see that the price of software is ridiculous? And still Nintendo doesn't really understand why they fail big in Europe.Its better deal to buy 50 ipod touch or ipad games to your kids than one 3ds game. .
@Dak_n_Jaxter most people on here are respectful, but when i do see Nintendo bashing I get real offensive because this is a Nintendo fans website. There is a fine line between posting opinions and just straight up bashing and some people don't understand that.
@Assassin87 Yeah that's pretty much what i was getting at... common interests. And, this being a fan made site devoted to a certain thing... it's ridiculous when people come here to put that one thing down... Just lonely i guess : /
North America is getting the game on July 31st!
@Steampunk Yep, and i am soo ready for it. I have it pre-order already!!!
