Buoyed by the releases of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, 3DS was the biggest-selling console in the United Kingdom last week.
Nearly 70,000 units of the console were sold around the UK in the last week, MCV reports. By comparison, the 3DS racked up 113,000 sales at launch, so 70,000 in a week is a pretty healthy number.
With some stores reporting scarce 3DS stocks the machine could have a very good Christmas ahead.

Dang, who saw this coming?
hint: me
Not good enough. They need to sell over 70,000.
Naturally, consoles bought this Christmas will mostly consist of 3DSs, because children already have their 360s, PS3s, Wiis and the like.
Lookin' good Nintendo, I wonder how the Vita will do.
My cousin was one of them :3
@Marakuto
Haha, I read that with your avatar and laughed.
But seriously, congrats to the 3DS to it's unsurprising rise!
@SLiM no, they need to sell over 90.000
keep it going nintendo and for as long as the games keep coming, nintendo will be ok, - no matter what the naysayers say.
70'000 in a week is good for the UK.
And they thought Nintendo was gonna die
@shoopdawoop70: actually, its about 7.7777777777777 times more than 9000.
