DJ hero has been in development for almost 2 years and there are few details, still, but they recently launched a website at www.djhero.com. There's not much to see there yet, but an area to sign up for updates and the platforms it will cover: Wii, PS3, Xbox360.
Slated for release later this year the title will include a laptop DJ "mixing" peripheral to add to your plastic instrument collections. Internet rumors suggest that DJ Shadow and Daft Punk may be included as playable characters as well as tracks from Tiesto, and that there may be a battle mode that allows use of guitar peripherals in a face off.
But don't take my word for it, go to the site and let them dump the news into your own e-mail along with other fun advertising materials, to be sure.

Hopefully Jam Master Jay will be in the game.
this might be pretty cool. from a game that a friend of mine has (japanese, for ps2), the concept works very well
I can see this being a pretty cool game, but whether or not it'll make for some compulsive, Guitar Hero style rhythm action games is anyone's guess. I personally hate remixes (well, a lot of the time at least) and so the thought of scratchin' to some records myself almost makes me cringe, so I can't see myself falling in love with the game.
HOLY SH!T!
This is like a dream come true for me! Shadow, Tiesto, AND Daft Punk!?
Scratching with a Wiimote, lol
This may be a stupid question but I'll ask anyway,.. can you customize your characters in the Guitar Hero games? I don' want to buy this and be stuck with whatever pre-made character that they give me. I wanna be "me"!
Though, either way I'm definitely "in" for this game. I can't wait until October!
