According to Chart Track a total of 2 million consumers in the UK are now kitted out with a Nintendo DS unit.
This really has been a mammoth month so far with Nintendo announcing they have sold over 600,000 Wii units in North America and also suggesting that they will exceed their 4million units sales target.
Nintendo UK general manager David Yarnton said:
"The ability of Nintendo DS to appeal to both gamers and nongamers alike through an exciting, fun, and innovative portfolio of software has been instrumental in its success in the UK."
The DS is home to a number of commercial smash hits such as "Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?" and "Nintendogs" which have made the console appealing to a mainstream audience. Nintendo will be hoping their similar marketing techniques for the Wii will reap them similar rewards.

Nintendomination!
Does this mean the DS has finally overtaken the PSP in the UK? I was under the impression that they were more or less toe to toe, with the PSP leading ever so slightly.
I have to admit that most of the multiples seem to be pushing the PSP more than Nintendo's machine.
