Welcome to our complete story walkthrough of Super Mario RPG on Nintendo Switch and SNES.

With Marrymore and Booster’s wedding out of the way, Mario and his friends have learned the location of the fourth Star Piece: Star Hill. After a trip to the Mushroom Kingdom and Tadpole Pond, it’s finally time to head on over and claim what’s rightfully yours! Or in Super Mario RPG's case, Geno’s.

Here’s our guide on Star Hill and where to find the fourth Star Piece.

Star Hill Enemies

Gecko

Geckos are weak enemies that should pose little threat to your team. They even sometimes flee the battle!

Sackits

Sackits are exactly the same as the Crooks you’ve fought before, except now they’re a little stronger. Still, they shouldn’t be a problem.

Thropher / Mukumuku

These are small, weak enemies that use digging attacks. They have low health so will go down quickly

Pulsar

These are most certainly not weak enemies. If struck, they use a spell that instantly knocks out a party member.

Mastadoom

These are strong enemies that can use really powerful spells, though they’re weak to fire if you do decide to take them on.

Star Hill Walkthrough

In Star Hill, you can unlock closed star doors by examining nearby Star Flowers. There are no bosses or Hidden Treasures to worry about here, either. Head left and do so before continuing to the next area.

Enemies start to appear here; while most of them are straightforward, there’s a chance that a Pulsar appears in any individual encounter. These monsters can one-shot a party member and are often not worth dealing with, though they're much easier to deal with in the Switch version.

Activate all six Star Flowers flowers in the area by interacting with them. When you do, you can proceed through the previously-locked star door.

In this new room, activate all six Star Flowers again and enter the locked star door. There’s a particularly sad wish toward the southeast of the map if you’d like a little bit of lore, so remember to check that out.

In the next room, you can find the Star Piece at the northeast end of the map. After collecting it, activate all the star flowers once again and proceed through the exit to return to the world map.

Your next stop is Seaside Town, where you’ll be swimming with the sharks in search of the next Star Piece.
