Don't use your hard-earned coal and ingredients on meals to eat — save them for making Star Coins! If you want energy, head to the Ratatouille realm. In Remy's kitchen, you'll be able to use his pantry of ingredients for free, and although you can't take the meals or the ingredients home with you, you can eat them for free energy, no strings attached. Just make sure to eat them before you leave, or the meals will disappear from your pockets!

You can also use the kitchen as an experimental lab for recipes, since the loss of ingredients doesn't matter.

If you think the maple and birch trees are too bleedin' big for your town design, just try again. Several of the trees in Dreamlight Valley have multiple sizes and different appearances, which are randomly decided when you select it from the Furniture menu. Some of these trees have different space requirements, too, ranging from a 4x3 plot to a teeny-tiny 1x1 plot!

If you get a pouch, open it immediately to get what's inside it and remove the pouch from your inventory. Space in your inventory is at a premium, and you can't afford to waste it on pouches — besides, they contain cool things! Don't you want the cool things?

You don't need to press the button to exit or enter a building — just keep walking into the area in front of the door. The game will know what you mean.

Duplicates of memories get you 20 Star Coins

Those big glowy orbs give you puzzle pieces to put together memories of The Before Times, and they're relatively rare — you can get them mostly by performing tasks like gardening and foraging. But if you get a duplicate, you'll get a consolation prize of 20 Star Coins.

Dig fast by holding down the button

You don't have to arduously dig each hole in your garden — hold down the dig button to create a long, straight line of holes instead! This is also useful for when you're digging for items like soil and clay. Don't worry — you don't have to fill in the holes yourself; they'll automatically fill back up in two or three days.

Check the guide for fish, foraging, gem, and plant locations

If you've got a quest to find something specific, like Emeralds or Herring, but you have no idea where to even begin — check the Collection tab in the menu! It'll tell you where to find any item, plant, gem, or crop — as long as you've found it before, that is.

It'll also tell you how much money items sell for, and how much energy they restore. Handy!

Removing mushrooms, stumps, coral, and bones needs tool upgrades

You might be wondering how to get rid of all those unsightly lumps in the different biomes, and you might be thinking there must be a special tool to remove them. You're right! It's the tools you've already got! Upgrading the tools is a matter of continuing to unlock quests, so it's unfortunately just a matter of keeping going, for now. And make sure you're saving lots of materials so you can eventually buy the upgrades, too!

That's all, folks! No, wait, that's the wrong franchise. What does Mickey Mouse say? "See ya real soon!"
