Review Volleyball (Wii U eShop / NES)
Flat ball
What’s your favourite major sport? If you answered “volleyball,” there’s a good chance that you’re among a minority of sports fans. That’s not to say that volleyball is a lesser game than the titanic football – European or American, your choice – or any other major sport, but it does make one wonder why Nintendo would...
Review Volleyball (Wii Virtual Console / NES)
Not volley good
Volleyball represents yet another of Nintendo’s dated sport sims. Comparing to Soccer, Baseball, Ice Hockey, Tennis on the NES this game is the worst of the bunch. Considering it was released in 1986 it is understandable that the graphics and sound are nothing to write home about. The players continually bop up and down all...

who will spend 500 wii points in this?
Whaaaaaat?? I never heard of such a title... =/ Super Spike V' Ball seems waaaay better.
UGH! This game was an abomination! Even during it's time it felt old and dated. The game is just BAD.
With this release, Nintendo really are spoiling us...
I can't believe that it's as sluggish as Soccer or Baseball after watching this video.
This looks like a controllable, fast paced and fun 2-player game just like Ice Hockey is.
I might give it a try if I have 500 Wii Points to spare.
Well I've never even heard of this game being mentioned anywhere before and after watching that video, for a very good reason.
I honestly believe that they should have dumped all of their NES Sports game on there in one go at least then we may have ended up with a few better games for the NES by now.
Ugh. This looks horrible. I am looking forward to Super Spike Volleyball though! Use to play that in college all the time. Love that game.
Is it just me or does it look like the sprites are humping the ball right before they serve? It's kinda creeping me out.
One of the worst games every made! I still have the cartridge sitting in my attic somewhere. Do not download this game.
This just reminds me of a game that needs......must come out and will be a HUGE hit. SUPER DODGE BALL. Please Please Please bring it back
Woah, I'm not against the bad review but around 3 years ago when they Nintendo were celebrating 20 years of the NES console, Nintendo Official Magazine (old version, not the new style now a days) had given out free CDs to show the 50 Greatest NES games.
It had this (Volleyball) on the list and also Urban Champion, at least it didn't had Donkey Kong Jr. Math.
Again I've never played this game so it's hard for me to say (other than it doesn't have much value).
you know this would be cool if it were a wii game....omly 3-D and motion sensing too
i played super spike volleyball all the time growing up and actually still have it for my regular nintendo it just doesnt work very well because its so old so i cant wait for it to come out on the virtual console for wii
I wonder if there is anyone who has downloaded this?
"I can't believe that it's as sluggish as Soccer or Baseball after watching this video.

Believe me, it isn't. The game is painfully slow, the controls are awful, and you're bound to grow tired of the game before finishing even a single game. Quite possibly THE worst game Nintendo ever made.
I guess I am one of the only ones to actually play this game. I had fun with it, of course this was way before super spike came out
Ah, this brings back memories. This was one of the games that my brothers and I got when we first got the NES at Christmas. Even back then I didn't like this game. I did play it a bit when older because the controls were beyond me at age five. I eventually played it enough that I knew which players the game would let you control when the ball came your way, and could compete. Still, there is not much going for this ancient game. Though I do think it's funny that everyone is doing the hump dance. It's like a bizarre volleyball haka.
I bought this because I am a huge volleyball fan and player. Nintendo has missed out on good volleyball games for a while. The only one recently was Beach Spikers, which is a great Gamecube game. I would say if you like volleyball you might like this a little bit. Sometimes I play it if I am bored, but Nintendo definitely needs to put all of the other NES & SNES Vball games on VC!
