Review Neo Turf Masters (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
On the green
Charm certainly goes a long way in the world of video games, especially when you're talking about Neo Geo titles. Some would argue that SNK's console represents the pinnacle of the 2D age, and its games were imbued with an instantly addictive appeal that helped paper over any minor shortcomings and limitations. That's certainly the case...
Review Neo Turf Masters (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
Golf in Neo Geo style.
There are basically two good golf games available for the Neo Geo. Top Player's Golf was released in 1990 and is a solid and playable golf game in and of itself, but Neo Turf Masters, which was released 6 years later, is clearly a much more refined and enjoyable golfing experience. The game features some very playable game...

News ACA Neo Geo's TATE Mode Hints At A Glorious Future For Vertically-Scrolling Shooters On Switch
Looking sideways
When the Switch was first revealed several (older) members of the Nintendo Life team expressed the opinion that it would be utterly perfect for hosting old-school vertically-scrolling shooters when played in "TATE" mode - basically, when turned on its side so the screen is in portrait ordination rather than landscape. It would seem...

News The Greatest Arcade Golf Game Ever Made Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This Week
Fore-play
If you've been enjoying the ACA Neo Geo series from Hamster then you'll be pleased to learn that we're getting another title this week, and it's a doozy. Neo Turf Masters originally launched back in 1996 and, without putting too fine a point on it, is one of the best golf games ever made (in our humble opinion, of course). Its large,...

The time has finally come! The Blue Bomber arrives on the US Virtual Console today after paying Europe a visit over a year ago! Accompanying everybody's favourite blue robot is the rather good Neo Geo golf game, Neo Turf Masters.

News EU VC Update - International Karate +
It seems this week is some sort of "arcade week" in Europe, as there are three new games which all have distinct arcadey gameplay. If you don't like karate, painting roads or golf, then this week is not for you!
International Karate + is the extremely popular sequel to the original International Karate. Aside from allowing up to 3 fighters...

About The Game
This is a golf game that was first released in 1996. The player picks one of six available golfers and competes on a number of golf courses around the world, including Japan (Fujiyama Oriental Golf Club), America (Grand Canyon Golf Course), Australia (Blue Lagoon Golf Course) and Germany (Baden Golf Course).
The game features two modes of play. The first is Stroke Play, in which the player attempts to get the best score by playing all 18 holes. The second is Match Play, in which two players compete to see who can win more of the 18 holes. Grab a friend and get ready to hit the fairway.

So how well does this game play? I saw a video of it, and it looks pretty good
Might give this a download if this gets a good score. The visuals look like they were very impressive when it was first released.
Is it going to be in the collection they are releasing this month? I don´t know
An arcade golf game? Never played it, but looks like it might actually be worth a look.
Aloalonso, yes, it is going to be on the collection, so you might want to save those 900 points for something else.
I think this is a fighting game disgused as a golf game. You are not fooling me Neo Geo
Relax Tony, I think I actually tried this in a gamestore ages ago... It´s a golfsim, and I couldn´t care less about that genre. Here´s hoping for more Neo Geo Fighters =D (And some shooters for good measure!)
It's actually a fairly decent golf game. Especially for this time period. I'll have the review up soon.
This is the most expensive Neo Geo cart- csting upwards of £1500!!
I have the scaled down version on the Neo Geo Pocket and it is fab- well worth buying.
lol I like the screenshot of the guy in the brown shirt celebrating his birdie
I think we used to have this in my parent's pub. It was quite a good game iirc

"I would not mind seeing EA's original PGA Golf on Genesis show up on the VC."
Took teh words right out of my mouth mate. PGA Tour Golf 2 or 3 please, one my favourite megadrive games of them all.
And how about Mario Golf 64 while were on the topic.
I guess EA and Nintendo would have to work out the liscense issues to put PGA golf on the VC. Who knows stranger things have happened
Great golf game, get the Snk Arcade Classics Volume 1 this is included..great deal there and great golf game here.
Its a pretty decent golf game, some strangely excitable voice samples throughout. Enjoyable enough but theres better games out there for that amount of points. A good arcade version of golf though, I wouldnt spend more than 4-500 points on it though. Nintendo must lower their prices.
I remember playing a golf game much like this on the computer at summer camp. It was a lot of fun, and it really was the only thing that I had to look forward to there. Then one day, they took the computer away, and I never played a golf game again Hopefully this game will come soon, so I can once again experience golf in it's digital form, only this time from the comfort of my own living room! Until then, maybe I aught to try the game.
On the green!!
would rather have hal's hole in one.
@kevenz#19: YES! Its the best golf game for VC so far, if you like golf that is.
Save your points for those other rareities. This is available on the Neo Geo SNK collection. If not for that, this is a highly replayable and enjoyable game. It can certainly get frustrating and having you shouting expletives. If you like golf sims, you'll love this one.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I just played this for the first time via my SNK collection disc on PS2 and I have to say that this game was marginal at best. This Neo Geo postingof arcade dumbness when it comes to a like 5 or 10 second time limit to choose a COURSE?! To choose a character?! To take your shot?? How does that add to the fun at all? It totally sucked the joy right out of the semi-nifty graphics and repetitive spoken phrases.
And the flight and landing of the golf ball...... it looks an aweful LOT like an old Windows 3.1 golf game I had back in the day. They just have the ball bounce and come to a stop on a poorly scaled overview of the course.
I mean the basic control elements are there, but I've played a range of golf games from mini-putt on an apple IIe, to Jack Nicholas on C64 and DOS, to various other DOS golf games, to various mario golf to Tiger Woods on PS2. Neo Turf Masters just doesn't even rate with half the golf video games I played. Pity too, the graphics looked promising. There's no way I could ever give this more than a 4 out of 10 score. Stupid time limits. Better hurry me up, or else I might ACTUALLY get to choose the course I want.......and we can't have that now can we.
Another excellent game. Again another golf game on the eshop. What is wrong with game-card. Not all of us want motion control golf. 2k21,Mario golf rush on game card, heck.
