Boasting a whole new world to explore, 100 new monsters (bringing the total to 251), and an entirely new cast of...

Guide Games Within Games - The Best Video Games In Other Video Games
Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel
Not long after the arrival of polygons on the video gaming scene, many developers began placing 'Easter Eggs' in their big 3D games that contained references to their older 2D work and even included entire games on occasion. In an age where companies have wised up and realised gamers will...

Talking Point What Makes A Good Sidequest, Anyway?
Quest x64
What's more important — saving the world from impending doom, or rescuing the cat that's stuck at the top of a tree? Depending on who you ask, they might give you an answer you won't expect. I'm not saying that we should ignore the kitty cats at all, but when you're presented with the dilemma of missing a quest that's simply about...

Soapbox For A Jaded Pokémon Fan, Scarlet And Violet Is Exactly What I Need
Just when I thought I was out... They pull me back in
For many years now, I've been buying the mainline Pokémon games primarily out of some twisted sense of obligation. Back in 1999, Pokémon Red and Blue launched at the perfect time for me; I was ten at the time of its release and had already gotten a good sense of what Pokémon was all about...
Back Page Pokémon Moms Speak Out About Palindromic Regions And Raising Champions
A trio of Pokémom
In the magazine business, the Back Page is where you'd find all the weird goofs that we couldn't fit in anywhere else. Some may call it "filler"; we prefer "a whole page to make terrible jokes that are tangentially related to the content of the mag". We don't have (paper) pages on the internet, but we still love terrible jokes...

News Get Your Own Life-Sized Mareep Poké Plush For A Shockingly Big Pile Of Poképounds (UK)
Mareep used Finance Option!
A couple of years ago, we discovered that you could buy a big ol' Mareep plush for around $500. We know, it's absolutely adorable, but $500? You can get a real Magikarp for 500 Pokédollars in Pokémon Red and Blue. We don't know what the conversion rate actually is, and you might not be able to squeeze your digital...

Everyone loves a Pokémon remake, but what if those remakes kept the aesthetic of the original games? That's the idea behind Pokémon Redrawn, a collection of over 100 artists who are redesigning the maps from Pokémon Red and Blue, and Gold and Silver. Fuchsia City, and Cerulean City So far, they've completed the entirety...
Random The Pokémon YouTube Channel Just Posted A Bidoof Fancam
bidoof.
Our favourite kinds of April Fool's jokes are the ones that are just... nice, you know? Enough of the pranks that are either really stupid lies, and definitely get in the bin with the ones that just make us wish that they were real. It's not cool to tease us! So, here's one that's just nice: a Bidoof fancam. Finally, The Pokémon Company...
Memory Pak Taking My First Starter Pokémon All The Way To The Elite Four
Making my parents proud by beating a video game
My first Pokémon was a Chikorita named Chicky, and I loved that tiny green horse-thing with all my heart. I came to Pokémon a little later than many of my friends and peers, having missed out on Pokémon Red and Blue by not owning a Game Boy, but I spent many hours watching others wander around...
Random 'Amogus' Is A Playable Among Us Pokémon Hack
Things are getting weird in the Among Us community
We know you're all thinking it, so let's just get it out of our system real quick: "Nintendo takedown coming in 3...2...1..." And yes, it's probably true, because it always is. But with that covered, let's instead talk about just what the heck is going on in the Among Us community. SusieQ on...
About The Game
When initially launched on the Game Boy Color system, the Pokémon Gold Version game continued to expand the Pokémon universe, adding 100 Pokémon, held items, Pokémon eggs, and real-time events thanks to an internal game clock. Now a new feature lets you trade and battle Pokémon using local wireless on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems!
Dozens of Pokémon join the action, including Legendary Pokémon trio Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Pokémon Gold Version introduced new Pokémon types as well—look out for Steel-type and Dark-type Pokémon throughout your travels. At the start of your expedition, you'll have the option to choose one of three starting Pokémon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile. Then, prepare to battle your rival frequently as the two of you make your way across the incredible Johto region. You'll find Pokémon in Pokémon Gold Version that you won't find in Pokémon Silver Version, so look for a fellow Trainer to trade with!
- Experience the classic gameplay of the Pokémon Gold Version game!
- Discover the innovations that started with the Pokémon Gold Version game.
- Battle and trade with friends using local wireless
- Catch all of the 100 Johto Region Pokémon by trading with your friends who have the Pokémon Silver Versiongame!
This game is only playable in 2D.
