Review Summer Games II (Virtual Console / Commodore 64)
The pinnacle of athletic achievement. The Summer Games.
The second Epyx sports title (and third Virtual Console release) provides eight entertaining events, of which half can be enjoyed split-screen with another player. As usual, you have a choice of which events to compete in (or practice) and how many players there are – each represented by...

News USA VC Update: Summer Games II
It seems the three Commodore 64 games a few weeks ago were just to celebrate the US launch of the system. This week doesn't bring another three, or even two - Just one!
Summer Games II is part of Epyx's "Games" series, which consists of classics such as Winter Games, California Games and World Games. Just like in Europe, Commodore has...
News EU VC Releases - 27th June - Super Fantasy Zone
After this week, it is rather safe to assume that Nintendo of Europe is indeed following a pattern. There's 5 new VC games to pick from, and like two weeks ago, no WiiWare games.
The top pick might be argued about, but if you ask us, it's Super Fantasy Zone for the Mega Drive. The game plays pretty much exactly the same as the original Fantasy Zone...
About The Game
A thousand athletes. A hundred countries. Billions watching around the world as you enter the stadium, marching confidently among your nation's strongest, fastest and boldest young men and women. Your gaze sweeps the crowd as you realize the scope of your achievement. You are about to compete against the world's best athletes in a 3,000-year-old competition. The pinnacle of athletic achievement. The Summer Games.
Summer Games II challenges your competitive skills with a series of athletic contests for 1 to 8 players. Experience the excitement and realism of eight different events -- cycling, equestrian, fencing, high jumps, javelin, kayaking, rowing, and triple jump.
Practice each event first to sharpen your skills. Then choose from the 18 countries you can represent in the competition and let the Games begin!

how about some platformers instead of more sports games?
This game looks nice, but I wish Track and Feild 1 and 2 would come out on the VC. They were really good. I think better than World sports competition.

Yeah because its so stupid how they are realeasing old olympic games during the same year the summer olympics is happening. Oh wait...
@Tony
Yes! Track and Field is an absolutely classic NES game, and I would love it if Konami saw fit to release it on the VC. Summer Games looks very similar to Track and Field, but I would most likely just bemoan the fact that it's not T&F, the game that rocked my youth.
I played hundreds of C64 games in my youth, & Summer Games 2 is one of the finest C64 games ever. I remember magazine ZZap64 raving over it, giving it 97% overall!!!
YES! This is #5 in the U.K's VC top 20! IT'S ABOVE SM64!!!
I loved all the Epyx "Games" titles. While Winter Games is still my all-time favorite, Summer Games II was a terrific title. Man this game brings back memories.
This is coming to the VC today.
I've heard good things so I'm wondering if I should give it a try.
If you liked summer games you should check it out.
But for me I will pass at least for now to meny other games and Wiiware titles I want right now.
