Review Swords & Darkness (3DS eShop)
Alone in the darkness
Side-scrolling hack and slash games fall into a tricky genre. It's such a simple concept at its core, but it can easily be ruined by something as basic as poor controls or lack of originality. Swords & Darkness, the latest in the genre to make its way to the 3DS eShop, is an unfortunate example of what happens when little...

It's not very bright

Arc System Works aim to fill that gap in Japan with the eShop exclusive Swords & Darkness, a moody action RPG set in a...

The game was better than a 4/10 in my opinion. I would give it a solid 7/10 and personally liked it enough to give it an 8/10. As you grind, you unlock new moves and access areas you couldn't previously - for instance, you can unlock a double jump skill which will allow you to jump across a pit you couldn't previously to access a new area. It is very similar to River City Ransom and made by the same company. I found it very fun to play and the graphics were charming. I couldn't put it down for a while. Worth checking out if you like this type of game.
