Ive been waiting for this to go on sale. if its on sale in North America this week im all over it
@Windy It's $5 and I'm enjoying it so far.
Just picked this up and its a fantastic value for $5! This is the exact kind of game I have been looking for for a while, a casual enough dungeon crawler with turn based RPG mechanics. A great low cost game to pick up and play when you are feeling that itch, but not enough itch to boot up the big rig and play a AAA RPG. I may purchase the Dark Witch games after I beat this since I am enjoying it so much as they are part of the same universe.
@Mo_Zing @StephenYap3 it's a really good game. I picked it up this past week. It's a very unique RPG. I really feel like I've never played anything like it. They have sped up every facet of playing an RPG. The Battle system is fast and actually fun. I actually like the way you setup items you take into the dungeon and how they restock when you go back to town. It's also nice it has a difficulty setting. I think most RPG players would want to probably go right to playing hard mode. Maybe play on easy till you get the gist of the game. Very fun and well worth 5 bucks. I think it's much more fun than the mystery dungeon series although it won't be near as long.
In case NLife doesn't review this and somebody is looking at this page in the future wondering if they should buy this game, the answer is yes. Yes, you should. It is super fun and cute and just deep enough to be engaging without you having to devote your entire life to learning it's systems.
Is there any story? Oo
or is it battling only?
No review of this? Nintendo Life used to be so good with reviewing everything on the eShop, and now you guys aren't even reviewing the VERY FEW decent games released. What gives? Ya'll hiring?
A very simple game, good for casual sessions between other things.
Brave Dungeon, is much like the Kingdom's Item Shop (which I found super fun), a repeat turn based dungeon after dungeon. There are 5 dungeons, each with a boss that holds a key to the next level, I guess there are about 5 levels each dungeon.
Obviously the levels require higher level heroes, since the encounters (not random, but they do block corridors) become harder versions of earlier enemies.
You start out with 3 heroes I believe, and some other heroes come along, but your party is 3 in dungeons, and you gain levels across encounters.
In the town you can buy items, which require ingredients (much like KIS) so a gold coin requires 10 silver coins, which require 10 copper coin and equippable items are the same way - it's a tried and working formula since Stella Deus (and possibly earlier), reused in Etrian Odyssey series as well.
However doing runs through dungeons (heal for free in the hub) over and over, got really boring. I unlocked half the dungeon levels and half the item list and was like... do I really want to push myself on?
Thankfully it was only €5 but I gotta say I would rather restart KIS than do this bland version.
