Games are coming out tomorrow, the Pokemon Park thing on the Wii, Samurai Defender, Mario & Luigi Partners in Time on the DS etcm it's just Ninty haven't released the advance download update.
Well Japan got their update today containing Mario Story (Paper Mario to you and me) and others, while the European Nintendo website lists Mario+Luigi Partners in Time and Pokepark Wii for a release this week, so I guess not.
It drives me more insane than I want to admit that there still is no update. Since I am not at home I cannot see what's going on in the eshop myself. I seriously developed a strange addiction regarding Nintendo, which targets buying games and reading news almost more than playing games. O.o
But I am glad to see that others are awaiting the weekly eshop-update perhaps as nervously as I do.
Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.
What is all this respect thing about? The update is still happening, they just haven't sent out the advance press release due to dealing with the aftermath of a dead CEO instead.
@Tiefseemiez: to tell you the truth yeah - I can't wait for the update too. That's because Thursdays (or should I say Mondays - because that's the day we are told the upcoming weekly games) have become like a ritual, and a week without that "anticipation" almost feels empty.
But the "Dead President Week" sale is possibly the worst thing I have ever heard.

@spizzamarozzi: I totally agree and wondered how people even get the idea that there should be a sale, because Iwata died. Somehow people are trying to imagine a connection between his death and EVERYTHING. I don't know.
Anyway: Actually there is at least one game that indeed is being put on sale to Iwatas honor ("I've got to run", see other thread/miiverse). Strange things happen!

It wouldn't be surprising, or disrespectful to run a sale. I don't expect them to, but it wouldn't be unthinkable or in any way wrong. They just would market it as a celebration of Iwata-sama's life and discount games he had a special hand in during his career on the eShop like Balloon Fight, Earthbound, or Kirby Super Star.
That's the kind of thing companies do a lot and, done correctly, would be very respectful of his life and legacy.

Honestly, it would be one of the most distasteful ways to "celebrate" the passing of somebody.
There's many ways to celebrate the memory of someone - but "marketing his stuff" is certainly the worst.
Furthermore, Nintendo has been very discreet and respectful about this issue. What would you want them to do?
Put a big banner on the eShop with Iwata's face in the clouds with the disclaimer "To celebrate the premature death of out President, we're offering all his games with a 40% off!! Grab them while they're hot!!".
do companies really do this creepy stuff a lot or you just made that up?!
Because if someone did that to me after I'm dead, I would come back and haunt them.
