I heard somewhere that if you used keys in palaces in the wrong order it could result in the game being impossible to win (like if you needed a key to open a door that led to another key, but you didn't open that door, you opened a different one). Can anyone confirm this? And which palaces would that apply to? Thanks a lot.
I've played through the game probably a dozen times or more, and I don't think that can happen. I would not be completely surprised, but i've never heard of it happening. And like Hawker said, once you get the Fairy spell, you've got that extra out. Anyway, if it does happen, you should be able to quit the game (or just power off) and when you start again, you'll either be at the beginning of the game or of that temple, so your whole save file wouldn't be screwed.
It's possible in the later levels, but as Hawker said, the Fairy spell can fix that. Since you get the Fairy spell fairly early in the game, a lack of keys will not break the game. I have played this game from beginning to end at least 20 times, and this has never happened to me.
I usually fight him by jumping around a lot, and hitting him with a jump-slash, like killing the knight-enemies. Jump in, attack, jump back/dodge, repeat. Sometimes, you can get lucky and get him trappped in the corner/right side of the screen, where he'll keep jumping into your attack.
Oh, and use Shield magic before fighting him (which i expect you're using anyway), it helps minimize the damage he does.
