Least Favorite Sports games Puzzle games (most of them) Donatello's stupid capital O mid-word thing, and subsequent skirting of the issue to unsuccessfully smack-talk Digiki
@Wrongcardo91 - yup gonna have to disagree with the fighting games opinion. Party-fighting games maybe, but real fighting games are some of the deepest experiences one can have in 2-player space. Soul Cal and DoA were horrible examples of button-mash-to-victory...either that or you're playing with equally inexperienced people. If you button mash against me in either of the above examples (VF and Tekken included), you will lose. Every fight. And I'm really not that great.
I never smack talked Digi, I was just playing around. Noticed the ' ' And I know I know, everybody loves the big O's, if I were to stop doing it the world would clearly come to an end.
As for button mashings....You'll get 100% no where doing that in Street Fighter and SSB Brawl...In Soul Calibur, that's BS. you will still get somewhere button mashing. I was(and still am) sort of a fan of Soul Calibur II, i had the first back in the dreamcast days and SC2(my favorite) for the Gamecube. It involved skill of course, especially with the awesome ways of deflecting/countering the other players attacks. but you can't deny that the combo's can easily flow like butter just by mashing buttons. And for some weird reason Soul Calibur IV left a bad taste in my mouth. Was it me or was the countering bunked? It seemed slightly more faster paced as well and less flow-y. I felt that the skill was dropped a bit, but I've only played the Demo.
Anyways Tekken...ahhh Tekken. I remember loving it back in the PSOne days, along with Virtua Fighter. Tekken with it's stiff robotic controls and animations. personally it's my most hated fighting franchise nowadays. Virtual Fighter on the otherhand has an insane ammount of moves to be learned. But i just dont care for combo based fighters. I don't want to have to memorize A,B,B,B down, up, XX(for ex) to pull of certain moves ect. it's boring and annoying in excecution. I'm more in line with pulling off fireballs, uppercuts, spin kicks in street fight ect. Simple to do, but it's all about timing, and when to do it. SSBros are even easier to pull off, but again it's all about timing and so on.
yet SSB is more of an acrobatic fighter, with the Air Dodging, deflecting and everything else. nintendo nailed it with this one. But i feel that Melee had the slight advantage over Brawl gameplay wise. Nintendo nerfed the Air Dodging in Brawl. they took out the directional air dodging which made Melee so awesome, and instead in Brawl you slowly pull off an animation and sink to the ground. Not to mention the controls are slightly floatier.
And then there's Dead or Alive. Whenever I think of DOA, i think of Ninja's and big bouncing tities. I was never really a fan at all of the franchise, because again it's Combo based.
“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” - "Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them."
As far as Sports games go, I dig Wii Sports Tennis and especially Wii Sports Resort.....But why do you think that is? MotionPlus control of course and Nintendo's non serious and more fun approach to Sports which i love. But You'll never get me to play a Sports Sim ever....Especially with No Motion Control support. Honestly, where's the fun in playing Golf with Dual Analog?....honestly.lol
I cant stand Flight Simulators(especially) and Racers. grab me a barf bucket right now please ;p
Seriously dude, what is with the capital O in the title? It's really weirding me out. I mean it's obviously not a typo, so you wanted to emphasise the "O" for some weird reason. And if you did want to emphasise it, why not make it bold and underline it? And decorate it with sparkles while you're at it?
You know what, just for that, I'm gonna do that to every "O" for the rest of this pOst.
Anyways...

I can honestly say that I pride myself On the fact that there isn't a genre that I simply can't stand, with the pOssible exceptiOn Of party games, since I find them tO be fundamentally flawed, and whenever party-game elements are added tO a game, it pretty much ruins the mechanics Of the game)
And I have tO say, seeing sO many people talk abOut fighting games is making my heart sing! I might as well jOin in: capital "o's stop here
@Ricardo - Fighting games are definitely NOT all about button mashing. If that's all you're doing, you're gonna get your butt kicked by anybody who's halfway decent at the game. If you're getting your butt kicked by button-mashing n00bs, then you're not good enough yet. Trust me, my favorite aspect about Fighting games is that it rewards effort - you can't just go into a fight without having practicing and expect to come out a victor. The more effort you put into the game, the more battles you'll win, the moves and combos you'll be able to do, the more opponents you'll be able to be, and the more epic your battles will get. It's just so great to see all that hard work you put in pull through. C'mon, Mac, whatever fighter you got, give it another go. And this time, get serious.
Oh, and I have Mutant League Football on EA Replay [PSP, worst ... compilation ... ever, imo]. I never played Mutant League Hockey, Don, sorry, but I bet it was themed like the former as well.

If NintendoLife gave the ability to Add sparkles to their letters, than my posts would look like freakin rainbows Really though, all of this O talk is starting to weird 'me' out. So what? I did something alittle different and added a big O instead of a normal o. This is ridiculous.lol Maybe this big O talk desservs it's own thread(nahh) seeing as it's getting a few of you so curious. Sorry to say, but there's no real meaning behind it. sorry to let you guys down...lol seriously. i kid i kid hehe.
Favourites: J-RPGs, RPGs, Puzzle, Strategy (turn based and real time), Horror, Parlour games (card and board games)
Least Favourites : SMUPs, platformers, racing, fighting games.
There's the odd exception in both - there are some RPGs I hate and some Platformers I love, but overall I prefer playing thinking games to doing games.
Yeah, doing something different and being creative would be a good idea if you were painting a picture, but when it comes to the English language, you can't just put random capitols where ever you want. It dOesn't jUst lOOk weiRd, it's WRONG. Seriously man, my 8th grade English teacher would be freaking out right now if he saw your post. I mean, if it was just a typo, okay, but in this case, you're more or less rebelling against the conventions of the English language for no reason at all.
If you're just trying to make yourself stand out, then ask yourself this: would really rather be remembered as "that weird guy who keeps putting capitol letters where they don't belong for no reason", instead of as "Donatello"?
Guys, please. Let's cease this argument about the big O! If Donatello feels like making the O Big, then Donatello feels like making the O Big. I'm not gonna argue, and I don't think it's that big a deal.
On-topic: I remember having fun with FIFA 2000 on the PlayStation when I was little.

There's nothing wrong with breaking the laws of grammar and spelling - I've read some incredible books and poetry by authors who did not play by the rules.
Of course, with writing, as any other art form, you need to know the rules before you can creatively break them.
Starboy - I would have thought you would respect our right to argue over capitalising random letters. It seems you're not as nice as you claim to be
Tolerates and sometimes enjoys: First Person Shooters, Third Person Shooters, Mini game packs, Puzzle Games, Life Simulation, Racing games
Really dislikes: Sports games (Except for Fight Night Round 2. I loved that one), Racing Simulation, quiz games, exercising games (ex wii fit. I play basketball which is a much better way to exert yourself).
