Get it now, theres tons of games out now that you can catch up on for cheap and tons of downloadable games. I bought mine a year ago and am totally pleased.

That's what I mean by the U being able to play GC games. Downloading them off of the UShop, or whatever the heck they are gonna call it.
The problem with that and I can see it already is that some GC games will be available for download (If they have them for download) but not all of them. Take the Wii VC for example how many great games from those older systems will never see the light of VC due to some reason or another, if you have a Wii that is backwards compatible with the GC than you dont have to worry about not being able to get a GC game.

Right now I'd say no. Wait till the Wii U comes out and hope it is backwards compatible.
So many good games, so little money to spend.

i agree with you, theres plenty of favorites on the gc and there are some that wouldnt be on the download service(if there is)due to reasons i dont wanna get into, also if they did they probaubly have 1 gc game in a month or more and it would go in a in a rough pattern like this alright, good, bad, bad, bad, alright, good, bad, etc but this all happens if they plan on releasing them on the vc edit:know how on the wii nintendo still had many good titles of their own they never released...same could/would happen to the vc gc
The absolute best time to get a Wii was 2010 but NOW it's way to late man you might as well get a 3DS and/or wait for a WiiU even thought Wii is just what $100 or $150 bucks in the U.S. right now it's still just seems like a waste of money to me when u got better Nintendo consoles now or just around the corner. Everybody sould just forget about Wii at this point let alone buying one NOW!
The Wii U will be backwards compatible with Wii games
And you know this how?
I recommend getting one now. Lots of games to catch up on.
I'd say it's been proven fairly well by now, but just to add, why would they have announced at E3 that it would be compatible with all Wii accessories, and then not make it compatible with any Wii games? That's a little counter-productive, don't you think?
Not to mention I'm pretty sure they outright confirmed they'd be compatible, but I'm not entirely sure on that.
