Topic: Will Metroid: Other M Freak Me Out?

I have absolutely no problems with the game, except the cutscene for the ending of Super Metroid. I am a bit worried about Mother Brain. Now, I could go get on the computer or play a game on my DS until that part is over, but it would be nice to have an opinion on this

Really? To me, that cutscene seems EPIC! Well, Metroid games can be a little freaky, but thats just me. Just wait for E3 and see the gameplay videos (if any come). Then see if it is for you.

No one can really answer that question right now. All of the Prime games had some freaky areas in it, and I think it's safe to say that Other M will too. The main difference is that Other M is not in the first person, so the "scare" factor would be greatly reduced.

I had no problems with any of the Prime games except a tiny issue with Flaagra, but I got over it

I get creeped out too easily in the Prime games. Space Pirates, Metroids, whatever it is, it all scares me.

The only parts I had problems with were the entirely blacked out areas.

Yeah pixelman, I think that everybody did. You could say if you didn't have a problem with the Space Pirate Base in Phendrana Drifts you weren't a person. OH YEAH, that bugged me. I mean, remember the room where you get the Super Missile? Where afterwards the music is just a lone beat/heartbeat? Dear lord O_o

And that upcoming Mario game um... Super Mario Galaxy 2? Yeah that game looks really scary! With that big turtle guy named Browser I think? Yeah that's gunna be really terrifying!

scared by metroid?? what are you like 8? the only real scary game is resident evil 1-4. 5 was a joke.

The only thing that scared me in the Primes was a grenchler, waiting on a door to open, turned around, OH CRAP! XD (was right behind me)

I say this: Mother Brain is my only worry about this game. I have looked at a ton of screenshots and they look perfectly fine to me. So just keep in mind Mother Brain

Nothing is scarier in Metroid games to me than the original game's ominous theme music. I was 11 when it came out, and i remember playing it sometimes in my house at night when no one was home, and even though i loved the theme, i always skipped it quick!

I got over it soon after, but even to this day the theme still hits a little bit on those old memories!

I don't really see a point in this thread.
1. We don't know your preferences.
2. The game isn't even out yet and there isn't much footage to judge on.
3. The question is... plain stupid.

I can answer! (I think)
1. He's young, so things appear scarier to him more than you and i.
2. Well, he says mother brain was a bit freaky for him.
3. I kinda can't argue with that

Eh, I can understand if he's young, but I'm 22 and that Grenchler still scared the crap out of me when I turned around. XD

Funny the only time i was scared of metroid was in the 2D ones. In Super, i got freaked out at the abanded ship place so i stopped playing XD.

Yep. This one is set in an alternate reality. So Samus is a man.( JK )
