Texas Hold'em Tournament had a bugfix a month after its release. Gradius ReBirth had a few graphic and sound enhancements about a year after its release.
Apparently they only allow patches if there is a critical error with the game in the first place, such as a crash. At which point you can make changes or enhancements - but alas no updates are allowed unless there is a critical error

Excitebike World Rally had one. There was a bug where you could get perpetually stuck tumbling that I experienced once before the update, so it might have been a fix for that.
I'd also like to know what the supposed LW2 patch did. I don't remember ever hearing of one, or seeing anything about it on the Wii Shop Channel.

What did the update for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King do?
It added 480p support (EDTV/HDTV) and the ability to access new DLC besides the 8 items that were already available in the DLC shop. Probably more, but this is all I know.
Did the Cave Story patch make the game any louder ... It's kinda quite...
The game just made the music have better quality. If you want the volume louder, you'll have to go turn it up on the TV. Oh, the agony!

Lead the Meerkats is in a serious need of an update too. After half of the game suddenly saving progress is just disabled. Trying to beat the other half of the game without saving, well, unavoidable freezing always sets you back to the last save point at 50%. After emailing Lapland Studio a few times they don't even respond.
Also, from what is known, Dive The Medes Islands Secret needs an update too, because you cannot collect every treasure to complete it 100%.
