I prefer whatever finish doesn't have it slipping out of my hands into my HDTV. No I don't use the wrist strap or the cond---er---Jacket. Also, there's no point getting the Wii Remote+ since only a handful of games support WM+.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
i think the remote is a bit slippery with the smooth finish. not dropping it slippery, but shifting around in your hands slippery, which can mess up your aim sometimes. i've really liked the rougher grips of the classic controller pro and if the black remotes feel that way i'm happy.
i've kept my motion+ in for the past few days to test how much extra battery draw there is and honestly there's no discernible difference. at least not for games that don't use it, so there's no need to worry about that. i've also noticed that the plus can really dig into your leg when you hold the remote in your lap, so there's another reason for me to buy the new one. just give me the chance, nintendo.
I also have nooo desire to play Grand Slam Tennis or even Red Steel 2 for some reason...It just looks...well, meh. And it's not even true 1:1 regarding the sword movements.
it's not. you can swing any direction you want, but unfortunately that's where the 1:1 ends. you can only really block 3 directions and moving the sword around freely feels pretty jerky. in the end it feels more like you're swinging a club than a sword. sports resort is still the best motion+ sword game.
@WaveBoy Sometimes it will lose focus but generally you can re-sync it as easily as pressing Select and pointing at the screen. It's pretty quick the majority of games, though each game has its own synchronisation steps, which is a little odd.
so the remote has been revealed for japan with a release of nov. 11, and from that date it will be the new standard remote in every wii bundle sold. it's also available in a b*tchin' new red, with a nunchuk to match:
the price is the same as a standard remote. as you can see, that ring of text winds up nicely curving along the edge of the jacket and predictably says "wii motion plus inside". with flingsmash coming out on nov. 7 it's probably safe to assume that'll be the NA release date.
no doubt about it, that shot is a boggling assortment of character sets. romaji makes sense since westerners can understand it too, but why nintendo names their own devices in katakana instead of using native words seems strange to me. i guess they like having one name for everything in all languages.
Isn't the Japanese word for remote a loanword from English anyway? Rimooto. I'm pretty sure there isn't a native word for it. Still that poster really is a mess.
not really news, but all the wii sports resort bundles will also be converted to remote plus bundles:
i'm assuming red steel 2 will take the same path. i'm surprised wii party is still bundling with the standard remote considering nintendo is completely phasing it out in just a month.
Too little to late for me I'm afraid.Already spent far too much on Wii peripherals as it is. Little support for motion plus is also a factor plus I like the extra length the M+ adds to the Wiimote. A bit of extra length is always welcome,Right guys? and girls
so here's the release data so far- australia gets it first on october 28th, then europe on november 5th, and japan on november 11th. the US is the last territory not to get a dated release, but flingsmash points to november 7th. i don't know why they haven't announced it here yet, but it's probably reggie's fault.
judging from the blue sports resort bundle, they could be matching each game with a specific color remote. i don't think they've offered different color choices in the few bundles they've done so far, but then again they didn't have many colors until now.
Now I think Ill sell my 4 wii remotes and my lone Motion +
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
Again, no the Black Wii Remotes along with the Pink and Blue all have a rough finish on the backside. Where as the White Remote is smooth.
Actually, any new Wii remotes in white have the rough finish as well. I bought my Wii in mid 2009, and it had the rough underside. Chance of a smooth Remote+ is non existant. Only the early Wiimotes were smooth.
my remote is from late 2009, and while i can't say if it's rougher than the older ones or not, it's definitely not as rough as the black nunchuck and ccpro i've got. i think there's still a difference.
Errr, maybe the have gotten rougher than rough. But the early 'motes and chuck had a gloss finish on the undersides. Exactly the same as the top. Then they switched to the matte, rough finish.
