Topic: Wii Sports Resort Arrived Today

i guess ur right for the violence thing, so dogfighting wouldnt work. HOWEVER, the lasers are basically guns attached to ur ship that u fire to pop balloons...kinda stupid. But back to my dogfighting point, how bout instead of dogfighting, u cud use their idea and just have to shoot the 3 balloons off the other person's plane. That would be just as good.

I Lol'D at the fencing not proving to be much better xD. Truly unfortunate for the makers. Still i would prefer boxing to fencing, i had some fun with boxing all the way to my silver gloves. I know my friends would love the boxing at a party over...fencing. Boxing also if i remember was the only sport that made me sweat and actually feel active (and im pretty sporty so it was surprising) since i had to move, and swing both arms and duck and do all the stuff...versus swinging a wiimote only as my little fencing stick.

Oh well, I guess we can just wait for Star Fox Wii for dogfighting and Wave Race Wii for... well, wave racing.

But I totally don't get your reduction of an entire sport like fencing. It's a very active sport like boxing. It had just as much potential, and people have been demanding a sword fighting game with true motion capture since the Wii remote was unveiled. IGN's review said it wasn't full motion like the Motion+ would imply it'd be, but I don't give their reviews much weight. They might have forgotten to put the batteries in the controller or forgot to attach the M+.

Why must we wait for so many things on the horizon that are so far out of sight I really wanted star fox from the get go: nice dogfighting, tank missions on the ground, and 3rd person shooting on the ground too. Man thats awesome to me. Even better if in multiplayer you start as a third person foot soldier, and then have to find airships and tanks to use scattered on the battlefield xD

Well, they tried that with Assault, and I thought it was awful. I'm sure EAD can do much better, but they seem to be overworked these days. I bet we'll see Star Fox outsourced again, but hopefully not to Namco.

Agreed. I tried sooo hard to love Assault, but it was a huge step down from Lylat Wars, shame. I'm dying for a Starfox Wii and can't believe Sin & Punishment (which rocks too) got a sequel ahead of it. Would NEVER have predicted that one.

Well, let's see. No boxing maybe cuz Nintendo wants you to buy Punch-Out!! No Tennis cuz maybe they want you to buy Grand Slam or Virtua Tennis. So Bowling is back (yay!) and Golf is back for a three hole play (or so it seems from the vid on the Nintendo Channel) so you'll still go out and buy Tiger Woods 10. Now as for the rest of the questionable "sports" I would have liked to see the airplane mode be more like a hanggliding sport, and cycling looks like its a dud, but could have been good if you hold the mote n' chuk like handlebars and make your way through an obstacle filled biking trail, or something like that.

I can tell you from the little I've played, the Wii Motion+ does make a huge difference. This is my first experience with it as I've not yet picked up the EA titles that featured it.

If you need help reviewing it, I could come over. I'll pick up another Motion+ on the way.

Corbie in front of your beautiful Television what is that joystick with colorful buttons device? Lol you have a PlastationPaperweight3? wow! I think you can also play P23 games on it, but it sounds soo much cooler as a paperweight

@ SUPERZELDAMAN - I was kidding. I love my Playstation 3. I just haven't played it much lately. As for the joystick, that's a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE that I got for my Japanese Xbox 360. I use it for shmups. I bought it because it had a Seimitsu LS-32 stick in it, which I prefer for shoot 'em ups. I did change out the Siemitsu buttons and replaced them with the softer Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons. Just a person preference.

@ HiroshiYamauchi - I'm just about to give that one a try. Thanks for the warning. I keep getting in press releases with stuff to do so I keep having to stop playing and do site stuff. Grrrr.

I'd rather not jump the gun. I want to be sure I give each sport plenty of time. I've really liked the Wii Motion+ though. Very responsive.
