Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of a way to stop the Wii Remote from going into "sleep mode". I'm doing the EA Active 2 - 9 Week program and during most excersizes the Wii Remote keeps going into sleep mode which means I have to stop in the middle of the high intensty or cool down sessions to press a stupid button.

Is there a way to prevent the Wii Remote from going into "sleep mode"?

Many thanks.

No, that is a natural function of the wiiremote.

Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.

My Wii Remote started to endlessly flash in this pattern where the fourth bulb will flash and shift back to the first bulb. I've tried syncing it, changing/taking out the batteries, and resetting the console but all have had no effect. My Wii Remote isn't recognized by my Wii U console no matter what I do and as soon as I put the batteries into the Wii Remote, it will start the pattern up again without any button presses. Does anyone have an idea what is going on and hopefully a solution to this problem?

It has been doing this for half a week now.

@Elvie Here's a couple of things you could try:
https://www.nintendo.co.za/Support/Wii/Troubleshooting/Wii-Re...

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/social/questions...

https://www.gamespot.com/forums/nintendo-fan-club-1000001/i-c...

And this video also offers another option. It's for the Wii, but the solution should also work on the Wii U.

If none of these options work, then I'd suspect the controller to be faulty, so then you might want to try with another one and see if you get the same problem or not.

And if all else fails, then you could always post your own question on Nintendo's official forum, which can be found in that second link.

@ThanosReXXX None of these methods have solved my problem but I strongly appreciate your reply. I had actually mentioned this problem on Nintendo's Tech Support forums about a few days ago but I have yet to see a response from them.

In a moment, I will show you a video clip of my remote's actions.

@Elvie Okay.... I can honestly say that this is something that I have never seen before, nor have I ever heard of it, so I honestly have no idea. Do you have any other Wii remotes, and do these have the same problem when trying to connect to the Wii U?

I think it would be safe to say that if it is only this controller, that it simply is faulty, so it could have some kind of internal defect. Other than that, I wouldn't know. If I come across any kind of possible solution, I'll post it here.

@ThanosReXXX Yeah, that is the only Remote with this problem. All the other ones connect to the console just fine. I'm thinking about purchasing tools to take it apart but I'm going to call Nintendo today or tomorrow about it before I do that.

I have five Wii Remotes and I have never seen that before. Tells us what Nintendo says if they reply, as they should.

@BlueOcean One of the moderators told me to try the standards Wii Remote synchronization instructions again and for me to call a number he provided if that failed. Unfortunately, it did. I'm going to call them tomorrow since I'm not busy around that time.

@ThanosReXXX No, luck.

@BlueOcean I just called Nintendo's Tech Support number and after explaining the issue, they were just as unsure as us and said to replace the Remote considering it was the only one of the Wii Remotes I have that isn't functioning properly.

I can't find anything online that mentions something similar to this. Why did I have to end up with a mystery problem?

What happens when you hold down buttons 1 and 2 together?

@NintoRich I've tried out your idea and it still hasn't broken it out of its ''trance'' unfortunately.

Does anyone know where I can get tools to open my Nintendo related hardware?

@Elvie Ebay but, honestly, if the LED was off I would tell you that it might be a loose cable that you can fix, but the lights turn on in a fashion that nobody has seen, so it must be an error, an error that can't be fixed removing batteries and synchronising again, so what can you do about it? What did Nintendo say? They should know what error it is and if it can be fixed or not.

By the way, I just remembered one thing. My first Wii Balance Board died because I cleaned it with water. The LED turned on similarly, have you wet your Wii Remote Plus?

@BlueOcean Comment #13 has Nintendo's response.

I haven't cleaned it with water but that was one of my guesses even though I don't what would have been the specific cause of that. If it was an accidental spill/exposure to moisture, I would guess that maybe a water bottle I was drinking must have dripped some condensation or small droplets on to the Remote.

@Elvie I had not read that. So Nintendo doesn't know what that LED pattern mean? LOL I mean, they made these things. Anyway, it looks like it is a fatal error as I suspected. A few droplets shouldn't have caused that, in my case I used a soaked cloth. Anyway, I think that this Wii Remote Plus is done for.
