Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Even though I don't necessarely want this, I'm sure I will end up getting it.
Same here. Looks like one of those games that I'm not all that excited for, but I'll end up picking up once it drops in price a bit, or there is a deal online.
Thanks for pointing these videos out. I'll be watching this title.
In some ways, it's a little disappointing at first, given that I had high hopes for the debut first-party Mario-Party-esque game, after they evidently let Hudson busy itself with other matters like the Mario / Sonic games. Once I get over that, I can see that it will be a great game to bring along to family gatherings (where we currently play Wii Sports Resort more than anything else).
The mini-games are simple, yet that's clearly the point: to take the basic setup from the Mario Party games and then make it into something that's as accessible for non-gamers as Wii Sports / Resort. The games actually look like a whole lot of fun once I picture playing them with relatives. The board gameplay also seems sped-up just enough to avoid the annoyances of Mario Party's excessive text prompts.
EDIT - I also noticed that the guide character's voice is taken directly from the composer in Wii Music.
The minigames look absurdly boring. "Push a button! Keep the Wii remote steady! Turn left and right a few times!" And I'm supposed to be the casual gamer? How can this appeal to anyone but non-gamers? The only analogy I can come up is that this is to Wii Play as Wii Play is to Mario Kart!
I'm back with a shiny new 3DS, yay! FC: 5370-0428-9949 Walker is the best Animal Crossing character ever.
This game might be fun. I'll be picking in up. I'm sure it'll be great for get togethers.

here at NL, there was an article about better online. This would be the PERFECT game for it. If it did have a robust online mode with all the features of single-play and rankings (maybe some more like acheivements otheres can see) this is a must get for almost everyone.

Yes, I agree that Wi-Fi accessibility shouldn't require friend codes on this one.
There should be friend codes, but just as an option. You should be able to manually type in a username to add, like MH3. (or add people who you play in stranger matches)
