Pro is the better controller, and the best game pad ever.

The Hori Classic Controller is better than either of them. It can play anything the Classic Controller can, plus it can play GameCube games, it keeps the left analog stick in the primary spot it occupies on the GameCube controller, the D-Pad works well, and it has turbo settings for most of the buttons. The only downside is that you have to import it from Japan.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I never liked the CC it just felt cheap to me, it felt like it was an off brand rip off but it wasn't it was made by Nintendo.

Pro any day. It's not even a comparison, the Pro is what they should have released in the first place. The only value the original classic has is feeling slightly more like an SNES controller, but with the pointlessly analog triggers it falls short even there. The analog sticks are spaced farther apart, which makes them much more comfortable to use, and the ZL and ZR buttons are actually usable now.
It is sort of like the Dualshock, if the Dualshock were comfortable to hold.

When you said this, I was thinking about this controller:
Hori Gameboy Player Controller

In my opinion, this is the absolute best controller for NES and SNES VC games. I have two currently, but would love to pick up some extras some day. Does anyone know of a source for these that is not outrageously priced?

The reason they're so outrageously priced is because they're highly sought after, few were produced, and they are no longer in production.
good luck

I use the PRO for everything. I could care less if it feels less, "nostalgic". It's just more comfortable. And its black. And its triggers are a lot better. And it's an MP3 player. at least I think it is I'm tellin' ya these things can do everything.

What I'd like to see:

A larger, flatter remote for any game that plays like an NES game
A classic controller pro with removable grips

I like the Pro better except for on Mario Kart 64. For some reason, I keep hitting the lower shoulder buttons and turning off the music.
