Disaster: Day of Crisis: Honestly don't know. Never came out in the states.
No More Heroes: The overworld dragged on for quite a while.
Muramasa: People hate color. Really though, the game basically said "Here is what you can do. Now go do it!"
Cursed Mountain: Horror games are horror games. It's hard to say much else.
Wario Shake It: It doesn't have the charm of Mario and there was nothing really special about it other than the visuals.

Disagree with what you said about Wario and "charm". Although the charm of Wario is different than the charm of Mario. I am still perplexed as to why Wario Land hasn't sold. It is a superb game and deserves a huge amount of credit in reviews and sales IMHO.
The other games, you could argue, were a little niche in one way or another. However, i'm STILL perplexed as to why the didn't sell tbh.
Add to that:
Little King's Story Excite Truck Boy and His Blob Okami Ghost Squad
Wii play - it's so underrated! It deserves to sell more copies, and it deserves to be the number 1 wii game in terms of sales! /sarcasm to be serious, I think it might just be because of all the people who just got the wii for mario and wii sports. A lot of people don't read reviews for games, and don't know a good game when they see one. [this also explains why crappy games sell.]
All of you guys have good points, and over the past couple of years why I have been atracted to the Wii more and more is because of these niche titles (that includes all the ones that are listed).
Thus far Wii has been my favorite home console (even though DreamCast has a special place in my heart).
Speaking of Wiiplay, i saw it for sale for $20 at ebgames today.
There are so many underrated games (perhaps you mean games that didn't sell well) because a lot of people don't know about them. Some Wii users are only into casual games, some Wii users are like us and informed, other Wii users who might like them but have never had a chance to try them due to little advertising. Being on the Wii most of these games are already on limited budgets so advertising is often difficult.
@JebbyDeringer: Wii Play is $20? For just the game, or does it come with a wii remote too?
@LEGENDMARIOID: Okami is my favorite game on the wii, but I can understand why it (and the other games you mentioned)didn't sell very well. Like 110percentful said, many Wii owners don't consult review websites for their buying decisions, and most wii games aren't advertised except for the occasional Nintendo game.
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

I think I understand why people didn't like Wario. The game has great graphics and sound, but the basic gameplay was just too easy. In one way that's true - it's extremely easy to finish the game if you just bull through it, and enemies are almost never a real threat. But if you want to find all the secrets, collect all the hidden treasures, and meet all the achievements then it will take some real effort and planning!
Oh well. I think the game is brilliant, and am very happy it's in my collection. If others don't appreciate it the same way, that is their choice.
out of all that's been added to the list I'd like to add Zach and Wiki, and Elebits.
Elebits was fun until later stages where you had limits for EVERYTHING. Quite a few underrated games are Mature rated (ESRB), and while I like to think the Wii has a market for them, I also think the Wii is definitely marketed as a family console more than anything else. Let's hope that changes to some extent.

It's sad that most games are underrated both critically and comercially. FFCC:CB is a great example of this. Also I noticed that most, if not all, third party games that go platinum focus on multi-player. More fuel for the multi-player only future that the industry's been talking about.

that's exactly how i found out about okami; a review i stumbled across online. i had never heard of it before and never would have found it if i had clicked a few different links instead. makes you wonder how many other games you may be missing out there if you haven't by chance seen something about them online... it's really not a good system, when you think about it.

I know, I went to Wal-Mart a while ago and I saw people just buying Wii games because it had there favorite character in it, or it had Pirates or it said "50 great games!" on it.
