Because Nintendo is the shizzzzznit and minus the 64, we've owned all their consoles so far (we skipped the Playstation, 64, Saturn generation). Even though my family has all 3 home systems, the Wii gets played the most and I have the most games for it. For me, it's the most versatile system right now.
I'm glad to see I was able to rebuy all my old games. As a child I would often be OVER GENEROUS, and actually I gave a lot of stuff away. I regret it now but I was able to get them again. Except for the Gameboy, I won't be able to get Hamtaro.
I was an early adopter. I saw the system's potential, and knew Nintendo would release a myriad of games with their signature "magic touch". I couldn't've cared less about the VC at the time and WiiWare hadn't been announced yet. Also, what Kaiser said:
It was the next Nintendo System. The day they stop making system is the day I stop playing games. I know people are going to say there's other stuff besides Nintendo and I am missing out. Without a Nintendo it wouldn't be the same to me. I just honestly have no interest in anything else.
Honestly i think because of the scene in E3 2005's Wii trailer. The guy in it shook the remote and there was a coin collecting sound from the Mario games. I guess that alone screamed "Think of all the possibilites in your favourite game series'!" to me. The price, the genius of splitting the controller up into two parts, VC and my experiences with the DS, Gamecube, NES and all kinds of GameBoy portables didn't hurt either.
I was just coming out of my Sony Stage and wanted to know more about what I missed out on
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
I missed out on the last Nintendo console (the Gamecube) It was the cheapest launch system with the cheapest games this console generation. I wanted to play more Nintendo exclusives. Motion controls were new and popular xD Virtual Console.
I bought it because I'm a bit of a sentimental twat. The last home-console I owned before Wii was a Dreamcast. Yeah, I played with that thing 10 years (2000-2010) - and not as a retrogamer for the sake of "experiencing the past"...I bought it in 2000 and it's been my home-system ever since, that's it, I just didn't move on because I didn't need to.
I decided to make "the big leap" in 2010 and, having been away from the videogame industry for 10 years, I had a lot of choices. In the end I went for Wii without thinking twice, because Nintendo was the only company that shares the same ethics and love Sega showed to us fans in its glorydays. I didn't want to own a console by a faceless corporation that is in it just for the money. I wanted to go for someone that had some passion and loyalty to its users.
It did feel like I got a Dreamcast II (which is the highest status possible in videogame history). The Nintendo fanbase is really strong and the company is close to the fans. I've never owned a Nintendo system before, but it really feels like being home.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I had previously owned Nintendo consoles like the N64 and GCN, but for some reason chose to pick up a 360 a couple years into this generation. A few months in I realized this console really wasn't satisfying me in the games that I enjoyed... so I sold it and bought a Wii. Couldn't be happier!
I bought the Wii to try Motion controlled gaming. I have all 3 7th Generation consoles now. Plus I really want to play Donkey Kong Country Returns. I still have my Super Nintendo with Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy's Kong Quest, & Donkey Kong Country 3 Dixies Double Trouble.
Be on the fence about buying a Wii So I finally bought one for 169.99 (no tax) So I catch up on some great games I've missed Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Metro other M, Metroid Prime 3. Mario kart Wii, Super Paper Mario 2. Super Punch out Wii, And the upcoming Legend of Zelda Skyward sword.
12 Wii games I have to catch up on. Not too bad and doable before the 7th Generation comes to an end
