Because Nintendo is what got me hooked on Videogames in the first place. I've always been a fan of their games and always will.

I bought it because I'm a huge Nintendo fan and getting every Nintendo system is a must for me. Even if the money isn't really there I will ALWAYS find a way to buy the latest and greatest in the world of Nintendo. I get the other systems eventually but they can wait
As I've noted in VC forum, I bought mine primarily for VC. I had tried PC emulation in the past and was quite disappointed in it. The emulation was often buggy with either games running too fast or too slow and messed up sound. The games also looked terrible on a computer monitor and the 3rd party controllers were pretty crap. As soon as I laid eyes on VC with perfect emulation, support for every 8-bit and 16-bit console that matters to me(and the n64 to boot) and the awesome classic controller I simply said "I must have that!" I've also been a Nintendo fanboy since the NES and SNES days and always purchase their consoles anyway. I knew Nintendo's 1st party software would be excellent and it has. And I knew there would be some excellent 3rd and 2nd party software as well, and there has been. The motion controls were also appealing to me just because they were something new and different. The whole 'same old crap' with prettier graphics had really begun to bore me. I don't much see the appeal in the HD twins. These kids are playing the same games we had last gen and are eating it up, but to each their own. Nintendo still has managed to outsell the HD twins by a long shot despite the fact that idiots constantly try to downplay this and portray the Wii as some kind of failure. I'm pretty sure Nintendo's bank accounts don't consider it a failure.
