Topic: Who thinks this is a good idea?

Ok so given the recent rise of dancing games such as the Just Dance series and Dance Central, I thought it would be a no-brainer for Nintendo to make the next Wii______ game Wii Dance. It would very likely sell very well given the Wii's audience. But, my idea doesn't stop there! I was recently playing one of my favorite DS games, Elite Beat Agents then it dawned on me, What if Nintendo made a Dance game as a new Elite Beat Agents title for Wii! It would obviously differ in gameplay from the DS game in that the agents on screen would become the avatars that you follow in tune with the music. It would essentially be like Just Dance except alot slicker design and alot more well done since it would be made by Nintendo. I for one would be very excited to pick up a new dance oriented Elite Beat Agents as I have played and enjoyed Just Dance 2, I just always felt there was a certain refinement or polish missing from it. One that I'm sure Nintendo could bring to the dance genre if they were to enter. So what do you guys think? Good idea?

A dancing game based on Elite Beat Agents for a home console isn't a bad idea. I'm just concerned about execution of the game. Wii Music had issues and as far as the Just Dance series I don't know how well that kinda control scheme would work for that game. Maybe if they used a DDR Pad in conjunction with a Wii remote plus in each hand might work.

I didn't like it the moment I saw "dance",
but then you mentioned the Elite Beat Agents.
With them, this game would be great.

EBA was the greatest music game I've ever played. that would be interesting to combine the EBA with songs such as, IDk, MJ's "Thriller" or something like that (great song, too!)

@WaltzElf: Why the sigh? I know you have this qualm with anyone who dares credit Nintendo with anything above other companies but c'mon, even when they make a less than stellar game, it almost always has a great presentation and style to it. I haven't played one Nintendo published game on Wii that didn't have high producation values and a slick interface on it. That's not to say every Nintendo game I have played on Wii is awesome, far from it. But even one of their biggest flops this generation, Wii Music, was extremely well crafted and slickly done. It just wansn't really...very fun is all.

Nah, iNiS needs to make Gitarro Man 2 already, not another EBA.

@bboy If I'm not mistaken Waltz loves Just Dance (2) and feels that it is highly polished and doesn't necessarily think that Nintendo could do any better. Same for Kid_A.

Wow I just put words into their mouths, lol.

Oh, I love that game as well! I'm not doubting that that particular game lacks polish as it is actually one of the more polished 3rd party releases I've seen. that said, there are still definitely some refinements that could be made to the Just Dance formula and given their stellar track record with polished experiences, I feel if anyone could do it, it would be Nintendo. A game can ALWAYS be improved upon.

Not so much that, but the implication that Nintendo is the only company that can pull off style and polish is a little silly.

Yes Nintendo can do it, but take your pick from any of these - Activision, Ubisoft, Square Enix, SCEE, EA - games published by those guys all typically have a high degree of polish and style.

I know you have this qualm with anyone who dares credit Nintendo with anything above other companies

My qualm is when people put it on a pedestal that it doesn't deserve. Nintendo is not the only company out there that cares about production values.

And I never claimed that they were the ONLY company that can make a game with high polish and production values. All the companies you listed are very capable of polished games(with mybe the exception of Ubi, just too many misses for my taste). All I'm saying is that Nintendo is one company that very likely could make a dance game even more refined and polished than what we have already seen. They are one of the very best at making polished games and probably have one of the best track-records for polished games in the industry.

Get out. The most polished dance game is Dance Dance Revolution. Nothing beats it.

Furthermore, Nintendo doesn't own the EBA property so it's not going to happen.

I smell a contradiction in this post: quality and Ubisoft and EA in the same sentence without a "no" or "never"

The idea falls flat when you realise that not many people want to dance to Minuet in G Major, Ode To Joy, Yankee Doodle and Theme Of Animal Crossing.

Nah 3rd parties got it covered no reason for Nintendo to divert their resources to an already over crowded genre.

I never saw a post that did imply this Waltz. Perhaps you're the one making the implications here.

So Beyond Good and Evil and Henry Hatsworth never happened. Didn't know that.

Sounds okay to me, but I do feel that if this game was made it would be one of those really good games that no one ever played.
