I had emailed nintendo about this issue and they actually responded heres the message: Hello Brian,
I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us in regard to your wanting to see another Super Smash Bros game. I am not sure where you heard that we had made any decision one way or another, as this game has never even been announced, much less that Nintendo had announced that we are not making one. But I will forward your email on to the appropriate department for further review. While you won't be contacted further regarding this issue, please rest assured that your feedback will be taken into consideration when making decisions like this in the future.

Bububut...sigh You make a good point, V8 Ninja, as much as it hurts to admit it. I'll continue hoping that GS becomes truly revived and gives birth to several new games, but if this is indeed Golden Sun's Last Story, then at least this time I know it's the last one, and I'll be happy that Nintendo at least brought it back for one more run.

i really hope it's the new Zelda Wii. not that i have anything against Zelda. i LOVE the franchise. but i know that if Nintendo sticks the moniker on an existing franchise, IT'S STILL NOT GOING TO BE THE LAST INSTALLMENT! they'd stop getting money from that franchise. it would be stupid business wise. so i'm just thinking about how awesome it would be to see an end story for the current link. all other Links have just disappeared in the annals of Zelda history. we never know what happens to them. i want to see a Zelda game where link goes on an adventure, saves the day, but dramatically dies, or renounces his title as Hero permanently or something. something that actually gives you a feeling of the hero of a generation having passed. i mean, we all know there will be another incarnation. but it would be so cool to see what finally happens to one. maybe it could tie them all together, too. like it being the smae link from the original and zelda II, and link to the past, and link's awakening all in one! or the n64 era link. or even just this twilight link. whatever. i just think an end story for a zelda game would be epic.

I don't quite agree with you here, SonicMaster. If they really didn't want to bother with it, why revive it in the first place? Only the diehards had any hope left that a sequel would ever see the light of day. Golden Sun could have faded easily into obscurity and Nintendo wouldn't even have had to bother ending it.
I'm sorry, I'm making this thread into a personal pity party again. There's no solid evidence that this is the Last Story, and even if it is, that still doesn't mean it's over with. I'm going to try and just forget the Last Story from here on out, and focus on the fact that we are getting a new GS after seven years. Just be thankful for that, Phoenix.

What about Star Fox? Command (DS) had like 7 different endings, so wouldn't one of them be the true "Last Story"? Just wrap the idea around your head and open up to the possibilities....
As for Zelda, no way! Paper Mario... It'll continue somehow. WSR: The Last Story - LOL Punch-Out: The Last Story - LOL but I would say Little Mac was framed for using roids by a rival boxer and now he's trying to save his career and clear his name.
