Topic: What's holding NOA back from releasing Smash Bros?

There hasn't been any big VC release in a while since Majora's Mask. And the reason cannot be simply the fact that they need to space out the big releases. I mean look at Japan, it's not spacing out any releases compared to NA and EU. They got Smash Bros. in January, got SMK in June, and a Final Fantasy game (1, 2, 3 already out with 4 coming out tomorrow) every month. There has got to be some other reason why there hasn't been any big release in a while.

Only reason would be they're saving it for a holiday release or #350.

I think in America game sales tend to be better in the latter part of the year, in the fall and winter. Maybe they're just holding on to the likes of Smash, Kart and the Fantasies for that time. I'm sure we'll get all these games soon enough... at least I HOPE we do. ^^'

Didn't you hear? NoA's only copy of Super Smash Bros. was stolen by Space Pirates. Reggie tried to get Samus to go after them, but she refused because Nintendo turned her into every fanboy's dream in SSBB, which pissed her off. Instead, they had to send that "Remember me?" guy (that nobody remembers) from the Other M trailer to retrieve it. He hasn't returned yet, and nobody's heard anything from him. It looks rather bleak at the moment...

Don't worry about what-his-face, I sent Team Star Fox to go get him.

I hope it was Star Fox, irken...I really do. Otherwise America is forever doomed to never having Super Smash Bros. on the VC, which would spell the end of Nintendo as we know it...

I got a message from Team Star Fox (yay!), all they told me was to do a Barrel Roll in his honor

I thought for sure they were saving it for Labor Day.

Now I just don't know...

Heres the thing this is my opinion but it also might be a fact:
Nintendo of Japan has the rights to every game they make and if they so choose to bring a game they themselves made they can choose whenever they want to release it like they wanted SSB well they can do it but for us fans maybe this is punishment for us not buying enough nintendo stuff or then again Nintendo of Japan is like a very Rich Parent goes out and buys there children a brand new Lamborghini and EU and NA get a run down piece of crap... (not always but enough) i think the main reason though is Japan doesn't want us to have it there being greedy or they think it won't sell enough which is stupid thinking if that was the case cause everyone wants it over here :/

Clearly it was Nintendo's intention to release SSB in Japan at the beginning of the year, in Europe half way through the year and in the US at the end of the year. So we probably have a couple more months wait ahead of us. Not sure why Nintendo made us wait the longest, though.

Why do people want SSB 64 so bad? All the characters are available on Melee and Brawl. Are there some really cool stages on it or something?

It's a LOT more than just stages and characters. Yes, SSB 64 had cool stages (Hyrule Castle comes to mind), but we want SSB 64 mainly because:
*Most of us are strongly nostalgic.
*Some of us are hardcore fans of the original.
*Some people say that simplicity is best.
*And one person, I heard (can't remember who), wants it because there are no "uber characters" that can kick everyone else's asses.

I want the game to finish my series.

I honestly do not want it. But there are those that have been wanting it a long time and its not going to hurt or kill Nintendo to give these people what they want.

As for me, I wouldn't mind the release, but I don't need it.

Didn't you know? Nintendo of Japan hate America and have entered into a conspiracy with neo-Nazis and people who push old ladies into the road to stop SSB from ever being released in America.
Seriously though, NOA will release it when they feel it will sell the most, while this may be frustrating for you it's their prerogrogative to release games when they see fit. Remember, patience is a virtue and if we can wait twelve years for Mario RPG then I'm sure you can wait a few months for SSB.

After the passing of Labor Day, I now have no clue why they're holding it back from us. If it's still not here after VC Game #350, then I dunno what to say.
