Looks pretty cool to me. Maybe you're just not good at it. Why would you be annoyed by it, anyway? Just don't play it if you don't like it. How silly.
Sorry, but the game sucks and I'm a big retro gamer. I'm annoyed by it because, 1)generic crappy enemies(snails.....?...bats?? its got them. ) 2)You walk into your enemy to attack them but they will over power you eventually. 3)Sometimes the level never progress's....I dunno if this is a giltch but I had to restart the game. 4)Enemies push you into the walls and can actually trap you and your pretty much done.
This game is so bad. Its the most annoying game i've ever played. Also I figured that the retro section was for Nintendo only.

You figured Retro was for Nintendo only, but you didn't figure Wii was. Ah.
Dungeon crawlers were all like that back then. The generic fantasy was just a canvas for you to imagine your own story behind it. Walking at enemies to attack is standard for the genre. Even Ys uses this mechanic, and it's not turn-based.
If the level does not progress, there is likely a secret passage somewhere. Try attacking the walls. Even for such an old game, I doubt there's such a troublesome glitch, especially since this is a recent collection as they could have fixed it for the rerelease.
If you like dungeon crawlers then you'll love it. I hate it too though. Along with Super Thunder Blade it's one of the games on the collection I'll never play again. It's achievement can stay locked for all I care.
Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know. Letterboxd Youtube Channel

If I had put it in Other Gaming, people would be like "oooh dude this is a retro game or a VC game". Also I haven't checked up on the VC yet so I do not know if this game is on it or not.
I don't buy it. The game is really boring. Its repetive as hell and very generic. I've seen better games on the NES. (Zelda for example).

Saying you've seen better games, Zelda for example, is like dissing a movie and then saying, "I've seen better, Casablanca for example." You aren't saying much. Zelda is better than a lot of games.
@ Sean007s I'd like to add to the list of FL's faults:
Its unbalanced and unfair; the idea of the game is to explore, yet in later levels if you take too long the whole level resets and all the monsters come back, but you've probably used all the items on that level by that time...
No story and very little sense of progression, yes you can level up (if you're lucky enough not to die after the first couple of encounters), and then for a few levels you feel like you're getting somewhere. However, later levels get brutally hard! Even if you have searched every previous level for every last monster, you are still too weak to progress when the difficulty suddenly ramps up.
Well done to anyone who had the insane amount of patience required to complete this one on the original MD (i didn't), at least playing this on a compilation disc/VC(if its released)/emulation you would have save states/save points. There are loads of much better RPGs out there from this era (i think the original game came out in 1991), quite a few already on the VC, so i doubt if FL will get released on VC. I think it's a bit harsh to call it the worst game of all time, but i'd agree it's pretty poor compared to most other Megadrive (RPG) games.
@cheetahman91 - agreed, i think Super Thunderblade is an awful jerky mess, i never played this till i got the Megadrive collection on PS2, that was running @60hz, it would have been even worse on the UK Megadrive chugging along at 50hz.
