Okay, with No More Heroes 2 coming out in North America on Jan. 26, and in Europe sometime in February or March, I thought it would be nice to post a thread (unofficial, of course) about the users' hype for the game, and, when it's released, their thoughts about it. Here's how this thread will go: 1. Explain whether you played the original and what you thought of it. 2. Describe how hyped you are for the sequel and, once it's released, what you think of it. I've played the original, and I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed the combat, the controls, the bosses, the visuals, and how hilariously over-the-top the dialogue and violence were. What I absolutely hated about the game was the horrible, horrible GTA portion of the game. There were so many things wrong with it, it wasn't even funny. The pedestrians were slippery and non-hittable, cars wouldn't collide when you tried to hit them, the frame rate went from buttery smooth to choppy, and, most importantly, the non-assassination mini-games were boring and dumb. Thankfully the good far out-weighed the bad. About the sequel, I am pumped. Visually, from what I saw, it looks amazing, even better-looking than the original. The combat looks even more fun and over-the-top. The humor looks to be just as good as the original. Finally, the ability to play two other characters in the game sounds awesome.

I realise this is the "hype" thread but I have heard 2 negative things about it - things that the first did better:

the assassins you battle aren't fleshed out and generally aren't as cool (and there's too many annoying chase boss battles).
you can no longer control the camera and the auto camera, well, kind of sucks. And the game doesn't allow you to strave anymore.

I also heard that, though the 8 bit games improve on the original, some are still instantly repetitive. And you don't get to use the bike much, nor is the soundtrack as good.

Still, I cannot wait for June! I've just lowered my expectations the tiniest bit.

1. Played the first one two times in a row (happens very rarely that I even play a game again a second time)
2. Can't wait till it's available here in Europe. Reviews all look fine, showing that it's a great game again.

Hope more people will buy it than the last one.
